Brilliant work GvS, I shall browse the links later, but it all looks well worth further planning for a ride out I think there are just too many options Too many options, or not enough time? The latter methinks ;D

Great work GvS As you say, there may not be an awful lot to see, but it gives a d**n good reason to ride a few of the local roads ;D
34.5k men parachuted and landed by glider in the local area and just about the same number congregate on the anniversary 17 - 25 Sep, so that is a good time not to go.
We'll see what response we get on the original Belgium/France option and perhaps consider this for maybe early Sep in addition or instead of.

Just to give you an idea: Night ferry Stena-line: Harwich - Hook of Holland. Depart Harwich on friday-evening / Arrive Hook of Holland saturday morning. Return trip: Depart Hook of Holland on sunday-evening / Arrive Harwich on monday morning. Return fare for 1 adult incl. motorbike incl. a single cabin is ± € 210 (period: early sept.) I know it's a lot of money, but it will also give you 2 nights accomodation. The trip from Hook of Holland to the Arnhem-region takes about 1,5 - 2 hrs. Now you have something to think about. GvS
