All, Interesting and valid points all. While I would agree we need to limit the forum to the bikes we ride and in terms of pure NTV esc technical support this should never change! But where members like Jaz and McF have a project NTV's and others ride bikes with potentially compatible spares (which for me personally with a 20 year old bike, is going to be a growing problem) We may want to make some changes. I think a Honda forum for me would be a step to far as I am very passionate about my Revere! and would not like us to go that way. Is my usual rush to make change I rushed the Christmas banner and pushed for a replacement of my wallpaper. (sorry if I have offended anyone it was not my intention)The big problem we have had this year is the time to keep pace with the forum currently approaching 6000 posts inside 12 months! ;D Well done all I personally love what we have all managed. I actually think a Christmas scene is a great idea, rather than a single colour background that other forums use. We all love bikes and travel so what does it really matter? As a suggestion should we start a thread for all members to post pictures that they feel would make good backgrounds? These could be in numbered or lettered threads. Each month we run a quick poll on the lot and select a pic for that month (out of them all if its easier) which saves the scramble for a pic each month or this year every couple. Happy to vote we add your pic norfolknchance to this vote off. But while you are at it, as probably our most frequent traveller, do you have any other pics to suggest for this or future months? I am sure Franklin and Sky & Buz may also have suggestions? More is good lets get the largest wallpaper selection we can, choice is good, then we can have a travel gallery as well. ;D How cool is that. oops look out here comes another idea! Happy Christmas Roger why not make it an open Honda forum Not a bad idea as the only bike I'm riding is the mighty Pan But if we do that, why not just go straight away for a bike-wide forum Jaz and his RF; Sky and his XJ; buzzin rides his 'strom as much as his aNTY I'm sure you and Hubcap have lots of photos that of aNTys that could make a suitable wallpaper - any you're willing to offer for Jan? We could have an entirely Hubfolk selection ;D

mmmhh what a conundrum I think the site IS NTV/Revere and should stay that way, but we have to be aware that not everyone who loves these old bikes will actually have one. I think it would be a real shame if those who have other bikes, but had or want an NTV/Revere where to have to relinquish their membership. So should it be an open forum? Maybe i should vote for that, but the NTV is what brought me to here, so it should still be the focus point of the Forum Sure there are other forums out there for each make of bike, but none feel like home like this one does.... We all like these bikes, so maybe the pics should have one in at least, but i remember when we first got the pics up they where just pics of the roads, because thats what bikers see. So maybe a bike ain't really necessary. There is nothing nicer then sitting in front of the computer and seeing the road stretched out i front of you, to get you thinking about doing some mile next summer... Personally I don't see anything wrong with other NTV type bikes (deauville, Hawk, Bros ) Being in our pic if no other pic is available. Now being a bike forum it is unlikely we will have many pics of Nutters members out on their bikes in the middle of winter. But seeing as we do, I would be happy for Norfolks to be added to the choices for the winter months. happy to be democratic and vote for any pics selected, and may the best one win, but i do believe the main thing that brings us together here is the 'Biking' be it on a NTV, Revere, Bros, hawk, deauville, skateboard or any other make of bike we have. Biking is what we do, the NTV just happens to be the glue that holds us together. Ps Rj 6000 posts in one year... Fandabidoscious... ;D ;D well done every one.. .

Here here Jazz, me I hate winter so a pic of some sunshine helps me alot ...........lol Like pics of snow but hate being in the stuff. NTV, Hawk, Bros, etc....aint it all about bikes ?? and the open road ??. Love me NTV as its what got me back into bikes after many years, but love to ride almost any bike and a open road after all we all share a common interest in NTV ? is a NTV not a bike ?. Do you only nod at other NTV riders ?? or any bike ? Lets all agree to NTV's being an old bike and wont last forever, unlike this forum and welcome all bikers, young and old Me being the old fart that I am............lol

I am also against the bike-wide forum, the whole reason i joined this one is because it is specific to the NTV/bros... etc. i want to use this forum to better my knowledge of these machines... if you have bike specific you end having massive of information about all kinds of machines and becomes difficult to find information on what you want.. also you tent to get lots of bits of information. but this does also does not mean that we should not welcome other riders machines in to this community ... unless they ride a Kawasaki, suzuki, yamaha ... ( only joking , i am so gonna get myself thrown off here before too long )

hell if you wana use any of my pics help yourself............... be warned theres over 4000 in my photobucket And thats just the charity runs............... ;D ;D And Norfolk, the background pic is a competition, and Rj does ask for candidates for the members to vote on. You know your pics better then we do, and you must have a fair few with the NTV in that also offer a scenic view? so why not dig one or two out and lets have them to vote on as well... ;D And to any one else who want's to add a pic.........come on down.. Personally i reckon the choices sent in should be ... Bike specific;..Scenes we would see from a bike seat (ie; a Road or a scenic view) OR Model specific: NTV/Revere or a derivative. Sure we can all post in other choices for the competition, but remember we will be voting on this, so the members WILL decide

As far as I am concerned, I don't mind what type of bike is on the background picture, as long as it's a nice picture.... Why should it matter what bike is on there? You're not going to see most of it, and the bits you see are meant to brighten up the site content a bit. Any nice picture will do that right?

Hi norfolk... I do remember that post and i did know the road was closed.. You might be adventurous but I know you are a safer rider then that... ;D Now the pics are good, I like pic 3 the best..does epitomise the winter landscape in most parts. I would say No to pic 2, just as the forum tends to cover a lot of the centre of the piucs and that one would be.....mmhh..depressing.. Others are ok as well. So anyone else got an opinion or should we just add pic 3 (my choice) to the Candidiates for background pic...?

Why not something a little more 'urban' ? I always liked these cargo areas, with trains etc. They have that 'underground' feeling that makes them special. And these have a NTV on them ! Hope you like.

Now Voted. Now we got this wave of pics nearly out the way. Might it be a good idea, like RJ said earlier to have a head start on the next round of pics? The competition idea has always been to propose a pic and once enough are volunteered we vote. we did do it at the start quite light heartedly, and tbh didn't give the competition element enough thought. (It is a picture that is mainly obscured, and really only meant to lighten a rather dull background behind the posts) But maybe now we have grown it is time to make this competition more responsive to our growing needs. So lets just make this a bit more clearer. Anyone who has or takes pics CAN offer up ONE for our Background pic. Once a given date has passed, we then vote on the choices offered. To be more inclusive maybe we should have a "None of the above" box, so those unhappy with the pic choice can have a voice. ( although the solution to not having one you like as a choice is to find one you do like and offer it up for selection ) Criteria.......mmhhh I would say what is it we like and are joined by. Bikes, NTV/revere, travel...(Bikes do travel right.. ) So can i suggest that pictures should meet ONE of the following * Any Bike scene.. (view from a biker perspective) * Any NTV/Revere Picture or NTV type derivative * Any scenic shot.. (ideally somewhere a bike MIGHT go, so those underwater safaris shots just won't do) and of course any picture YOU think might be a winner. It shouldn't really matter as we WILL be voting on it. And of course any picture that enough people like will be the winner..Simples. I think a simple post with an offering for the next competition, would be appropriate. let it run for a month say and then we vote for a new pic to kick off the new year in January.

Sounds good to me * Any scenic shot.. (ideally somewhere a bike MIGHT go, so those underwater safaris shots just won't do) D@mn, all those photos and I can't use them It's been that wet recently, I've felt I needed to get a snorkel fitted ;D
