We are trying out a new gallery idea, and are interested to understand your thoughts? Please feel free to post a comment or suggestion for the gallery in this thread. In addition comments on gallery pictures can also be added here.  Sticky but Unlocked |

I agree with your idea.
It seems a good way to organize this kind of content.
The way it is now, the pictures keep being posted into distinct threads, making them hard to find.
I think it is not a bad idea that everytime someone has a picture to post about his own bike (a detail or steps of some random work) to post them into his bike thread instead of disperse topics.
I speak for myself, I've posted many pictures of details and works I've done on the bike, but these are on 2 or 3 different threads.
This kind of approach requires that each bike's thread remain unlocked so the owner of that bike can post pics of it any time.
I know that sometimes this may not work or help when we are trying to explain a technical detail or so... In these situations, we could follow the common sense rules.
What do you think ?

My first thought was to say great idea. But on reflection the posts you have made were great and within specific areas of the forum. Which we hope will make them easier to find. We have many thousands of posts already inside a year and need to keep on top of topics / threads to ensure we manage all the information we are collecting for future years/problems to come. My thought is this could be for the latest fab picture or collage. Project shots or specific shots of your headlight may be better placed in other threads. The risk of unlocked threads of by the time you get the third page of comments your bike pic will be lost! One thought I did have was links to the threads in the index. Lets get another pic of your bike up anyway, more is always good |

GvS I have added your bike and locked your thread.
This will keep your bike on page one of the locked thread.
If we then add comments in this thread about specific pics, we can then have fun nattering but keep the pictres easy to find.

Norfolk, Well done for a start. Please take a virtual beer from the club fridge. A comment in the comments thread! I agree there are many of your picture to choose from which do yo want to add. If its easier for you add it / them to your HTML page and I will add you a thread in reverse. I think you should also be able to add your own thread and lock it yourself? I will then add you to the index as I have locked that. I like your html page. Lets stick with this idea a while longer Norfolk. I think it will work  The problem we have is the success of the forum. Most people have to use the last thirty posts option which means the admin team keep posting on my locked threads. (Bad boys  ) lol. That said we are starting to get some good content together. I even found a couple via your HTML page and tracked them down from there. I actually like your HTML page as it is. As a thought though, how about links in the HTML back to each bike threads. That way if people want they could use your HTML page as the index! |

IS it possible for the pic selected to open up in a selection of pictures by that member? For instance where you have Norfolk it only opens up to the one picture. it might be the aim of the post, but i just found that a bit Flat, when what i really wanted to do was to see your bike from other angles or in different locations perhaps Not knocking the idea, i really like it and it Might be that it is too complicated to impliment, but just offering an opinion of an improvement i would like to see on it IF possible.. ;D As to add pics? To where mate...? |

Rj...Did not really see the gallery thread correctly.. But know i look at it and with other pictures added it now starts to make perfect sense... ;D Its a pity that it has to be locked and that we can't just password that post for the 'Owner' of that bike to post in other pics of their bike at will. Would save a lot of fannying around for you or the Admins...  . Noted in a post that the gallery section is getting confusing?..agree we now got too many posts with gallery as the topic. (Not the individual ones mate) Certainly would be possible to arrange all the posts into distinct headings...eg: Norfolks ride out pics, perhaps. Then the threads views is fewer at first and more dedicated, so we can see what we are looking for easier. ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=picturesHave amended one or two of the post headings and details to reflect your good work... ;D Quite like the Roger gallery becoming the 'Your PERSONAL Bike pic page' type thing...
