That is an excellent find - well done
Takes a few minutes to sort out the download, but it is well worth it

Nice catalog!
I'm always wondering, is there a good way to find out whether a part that fits on some other model also fits your own model? I've had it a few times that a store sells a part for bike X, and the part looks exactly the same as the part that I need, but I don't buy it because I am not sure if it really is the same part...

Usually the Honda partnumber should be the same if it is identical. However, sometimes different parts fit as well (look at the fuel pump....anything that pumps enough petrol should do). The only way to find out is to try.... With important engine parts I would not recommend this, but things like tyres, buddyseats or fuelpumps it should be ok to experiment.

So, does anyone know how these part numbers really work? It's usually something like 12345-AB1-123 I am especially curious to this middle part ("AB3"), called the "Product code" or the "Parts Classification No." The first part (12345) sounds pretty logic to me, consisting of a "Function" (every part must have a function, right?) and a component (several components together can do one function). Then we also have the last part, the "Classification Number", which I also do not understand, but let's figure out one thing at a time So what do they mean with "Product code" or "Parts classification No."? I have the strong feeling that there are parts with different part numbers, but which are exactly the same. (For example: 90087-KT7-000 and 90087-MR1-000, that's the crankshaft end cap)

Anyone interested in the Honda Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) for Motorcycles ? It is simply the top tool to have. It is a complete parts catalog for the whole line of honda motorcycles from 1992 to 2007, with pictures, part-numbers and even some prices. The best I've found so far, and of course, it has all the stuff for the NTVs also ;D Here is a glimpse of it : I already found a newer version of this software, which covers all the motorcycle models from 1995 to 2009, but since the majority of the NTVs here seem to be prior to 1995, the 1992-2007 version seems more appropriate. These are 16bit aplications, so they do not run on Vista. Only on Windows XP 32bit or previous. I had to put them working on a virtual machine, but it was worth the effort ! If anyone is interested, just PM me. I'll send you the rapidshare links to get it (1992-2007 or 1995-2009 versions).
