Wow I am sure glad I brought this one, as the extra power makes all the diff.
The XJ is just like a aNTy but with bags more power and a bit better handling, but need to road test a bit more, so far sits at way over the motorway speeds into trip figs.
The seat is way better than the aNTy and much better for a long run.
Jan loves the seat and I have probs getting her off it again..........lol

how does the xj900 compare to an ntv, is it much heavier ,thirtier, akward to handle and how about comfort , is the screen any good . There is one for sale near my home and i wondered how it compares thanks.

Hi Paul,
Quick note from me pre Sky spotting this. (just in case you have to make a quick decision) I have never ridden one but SKy seemed more than happy last time I saw him.
The XJ has plenty of power 2 up, handles well. Sky's NTV went 2 up to Spain so he has tested both.
He had a big grin on his face last year on camp and showed no signs of wanting rid.
I think VTwinFan has just bought one too.

Thanks for the quick response , I want to completley strip down and do up my ntv which is showing signs of age and living outside under a cover. I am building a shed/garage for the bikes and think that the xj will keep me going untill the ntv is back on the road, I was after feedback on the xj.

yes I have just bought a 2001 xj900s,
its not much heavier than the ntv but a lot more comfy, copes a lot better two up as well. loads more power but the in line 4 is more revvy than the twin as you would expect. rides very smooth , handles fine and stops when you want it to.
I too need to take the ntv off the road for some maintenance { new clutch } and the xj900 seemed to be a good all weather do anything replacement.
I was told they rot , so you have to check out the exhaust and parts of the frame.
they are supposed to be bomb proof just like the ntv.
