Approx 450 miles (most so far over a weekend for me and my longest ride so far at approx 220 miles on Friday)
Off to see my dad in Dronfield for a flying trip.
I left Poole on Friday lunchtime, with my MK2 speed bump fitted and a rucksack lashed to the top. And my trusty lidl tank bag in place.
(off on the long way up)
Swindon was the first stop to meet my brother on his Sv650s, damp roads all the way which was not ideal but only one hairy bend and that was mainly caused by a lack of concentration. I pointed her round called myself a few things and started concentrating again. The bike as ever was great and wondered what all the fuss was about.
Approaching Swindon the sun decided to play and came out for a spell giving my brother and I a few fun miles up the Fosse Way.
Then the sun must have got tired as it went back in and it was all change for some biblical rain!! My jacket held up well keeping me dry; but I rode the rest of the way north with a wet bum!
Saturday afternoon we set off for my brothers place in Gloucester dry roads all the way lots of fun, we were making good progress with another sv650 trying to catch up for about 10 miles which was fun, he was having problems getting round the bends. ;D Such fun. The old Revere and I had a big smile at that very big ;D.
Who needs a sports bike. (ok an sv would be fun but I need to learn some more first).
Sunday morning saw me heading back to Poole, more dry roads what a weekend and I even managed to piss off a duke, as he could not drop me without being very silly.
Ok not quite a day trip but a ride I would recommend. Some speed cameras but not over the top, and good visibility most of the time for the bends.
Did anybody else get out this weekend?
