Seems a chilled out place, we need to get there before 5 which gives us all time to travel without the rush.
I assume you will come over the night before Franklin giving us the chance for a natter over a drink of your choice.
I will get some map images posted here for directions and more details we can agree.

From my home to Basingstoke could very well be done in one day. I hope you mean the trip one way can be done in one day (which is certainly achievable) and that you will spend an overnight, before heading back. If you can make it from the Netherlands, it would be fantastic, what a year we will have, meet ups, including international rallies!

Sorry 'gang'
I won't be able to make it. Duties at work prevent me from getting the monday (after the event) off. Of course I needed that monday to get home.
(I wonder what they will do if I'm ill.....)

My plan was to ride from my home to Basingstoke on the saturday (get a B&B). Spend time with you lot on the sunday and already start on the way back sunday afternoon. Why ? because I don't want to be on the M25 during monday-morning rushhour and also I wanted to take de-tour through Kent on the way back. Then another B&B close to Dover & back home on the Monday. That was the plan.............. Now I have no intention to pretend that I'm ill to stay away from work (well, at least I didn't think about it for very long...). But I was wondering how it is possible that I cannot be missed from work some monday; two months from now. But every time I ask for a pay-rise, suddenly, there are so many other people who can do my job just as well as I can (etc. etc....). Oh well that's life. Better luck next time. Franklin PS. On the bright side: it has just been confirmed that we (the wife, two kids & myself) can have a house right in the centre of Amsterdam for a whole week during July. It belongs to an old school-mate of my wife and we're house-sitting; so there's also no charge. I'm looking forward to that

I was thinking of getting to Popham after lunch, giving options to either pitch the tent dump the kit and go off for a ride. Or if there is lots going on at the airfield chill out and chat and watch the world go by. Naturally if you have ridden down from Scotland, you may not want another ride which would be understandable. I am riding to Sheffield on friday which may be everybodies idea of fun but it would be good to meet some more of you if you can get down. I don't think we can eat on site but there moust be a close by pub we can pop out to. May be worth tucking a tin or two in you day sack just in case we have to ride to the pub. Roger
