Hi Everyone,i recently bought an R reg ntv650 with about 38500 miles on it..i've noticed that the temp gauge takes ages to move up once out of the 'c' zone, for the fan to come on it has to be halfway, which has only happened twice in a full week of riding,i don't know, maybe thats normal and its just how the bike runs, its just that in same conditions and riding my previous bikes would have had their fans on more often..i've seen this oil temp gauges on ebay that replace the oil dipstick..tempted of getting one so i know whats happening and if the bike is running hot fit a direct switch to the fan..bike seems to be running fine though..a friend of mine with the same model says his temp gauge reeds higher than mine and subsequently his fan is on more often than mine..regards..

Hi I would not worry long as temp gauge moves a bit...rarely had fan come on mine. if i not topped up anti freeze ( usually fill it with water from kettle lol) for a while then fan may come on if stuck in traffic.
