Today I agreed to buy a 2012 V-strom. It's a 2011 model, but was registered in 2012. Photo's will come later. I'm hoping to pick up the bike next saturday.

That would be a v-strom 650? And is that the new 'smooth' look, or the really pretty one? Gratz on the bike!

If it doesn't have any protection for the front exhaust pipe, you can try to fit my dl1000 spoiler (not using it, and I don't think it's worth much) But personally I would fit the crashbars and skid plate to finish the look.
Do you have it with the suzuki case fitted, or a Givi one? (or none?)

It has the original Suzuki topbox & also crashbars fitted. But no skid plate. Do you think your old DL1000 spoiler will fit on the DL650 engine ??

Ah, as a tip: check if you can open the seat with the case on. If not, prepare to be mcguyver and alter the case mount (plenty of examples on the internet) The crashbars I see are from SW-Motech and are exactly the same as the ones I had (and have...bend ones that is). They are compatible with the skidplate if you want to mount that (it mounts to the front bracket on the bars) I think this is the one: sw-motech shop linkI don't know if the engine mounts on my spoiler are compatible with the 650, but you can try...if it doesn't fit, nothing is lost But apart from all that.....the bike does look really good I still love them....just not the new ones....

First modification: a touring screen The small deflector on top of the screen prevents a lot of buffeting (yes, it does work!) GvS
