Mine was a wee traillie, a Suzuki TS125X bought in 1989. G 240 OGD. Didn't own it for long and didn't have a camera to take photographs but here's one off the net: Competent learner bike but couldn't wait to upgrade to something bigger after passing my test. Traded her in for an old Yamaha XJ600 which was ideal.

A mate of mine had one of those, I remember feeling very envious. It was years till I had my first bike.

Full List: Express, H100SII, CM125C, VF400F, GSX400E, CB400/4, VT250, CM125C(another one), GSX400X Impulse, GL400C(Grey import 400cc CX Custom), then nowt for a few years then .... ST1100R(Loved it but had to sell it when I lost me job), and now a ..... NTV600M in Purple with one Grey wheel and one white one, a seat made outta tape and a topbox straped on the backseat (if anyones got a rack of any type, shape or condition going begging can you let me know as I'm on Disablity and can't find one in my price range)

Hi Andi, Welcome to the club. Interesting looking bike you have there. That said when you are sat on it, and grinning through the bends, who gives a stuff what colour it is. Roger

To answer your questions, @mcf, Unfortunately I have a mashed up leg so anything over 15miles is a long journey these days. yellowmelos, I never said you could see the White paint through the Dirt rj2para (Bisto), Indeed the NTV was made for bends and here in deepest darkest Essex there are a few to enjoy And as Yellowmelos asked, Here's a pic I took during the last heavy snow And yes this is normal, The poor girl lives outside 365doty through all weathers (I know I know I should be ashamed of myself but .... I'm not)

First bike was an RD50MX. Bought it at 16 but they wouldn't let you take the full test on anything 50cc or under. So I had it bored out to 65cc and had to re-register it with the DVLA so I could take my bike test on the 17th birthday. I then spent the whole year saving up for my first proper bike. I don't remember ever being so determined in my life to save so hard.... I remember going without food and wearing the same pair of crappy shoes all year so I could save every penny. And I would go to sleep every night staring at the pictures in my Honda brochure longing for the day I could walk into the dealership and pick mine. I didn't quite save enough, so I was down the bank literally on my 18th birthday to take out a £400 loan to get enough money for a brand new XBR500. That was my first big bike and I loved every single minute of owning it. I've owned more bikes than I can remember from Yamaha, Honda and Kawasaki (never owned a Suzuki, not sure why)..... but nothing has given me that feeling again of my early years with that XBR.... Actually, there's probably room in the garage for a little 500cc single... The wife would like that.....

I know this thread is a bit old, but... My first 2 wheels was a Phillips moped, I only whent 50yards and got pulled up - no licence. My next was a (sorry 'bout this) was a Lambretta Ld. But my pride was my Bonneville I sold it when I got engaged (stupid) Then a 30+ year gap 250 Superdream, Suzuki GS500 (still got) and the NTV!

I know this thread is a bit old, but... That's OK. I sold it when I got engaged (stupid) Things were different in those days: when my (older) brother was born, my dad sold his car to pay for a pram ;D (But this is more than 50 yrs ago !) GvS
