Hi All In the process of installing new fork seals Question 1 How does the black caps that hide the Allen key caps come off is it a knock off with a screwdriver or are they unscrewed

It's just pressed into the hex of the top cap. The plastic cap is smaller than the actual top cap, so it's just the lower diameter than you need to prize off. Just put a smal flat blad screw driver under it; it should come off easily. I've just done the fork seals on my NTV & taken a lot of photo's while doing it: That will become a new page to my site, but it may take a few months before that's done. GvS

Oh Dear in the dim light of my garage the plastic cap looked like it was part of the allen screw cap, so i was trying to tap all of it off ;/ All sorted this morning, stripped cleaned and started polishing the bottom legs

The Allen bolt in the lower leg was tight bit came undone with a sharp snatch, then separating the 2 halves was easy enough, once the circlip under the dust seal is removed, using a slide hammer action it parted after about 6 attempts

Actually I did not have that problem. Once done a quick buff following the winter will make them shine.
I agree they never look quite that good but much better than they were.
I look forward to seeing them back on your bike. :-)
