From poindimie to kone in New Caledonia. 85kms each way so what with lunch I'm at 200 a day. Very happy to have a revere for this as it seems pretty ideal, with low running costs, OK handling and good reliability. Just the pants headlamp is a negative, but easy enough to sort. Here's some pics if you're interested: blog
Tyre wear is an issue with high temps and rough roads, and 200 GBP for a rear, but everyday I know I'm a lucky biker. If I see more cars than dogs it's a busy day.

So been doing this now for two and a half weeks a total of 14 round trips but had to take the car for an evening trip one night so that about 2500km. Bad news is tyre wear, it's looking like I'll only be getting 4000km out of a rear tyre, whch is depressing as round the net people are getting up to 10000 miles out of these conti motion tyres. For the meantime I've found a new 160 cheap but if I want to keep going on the bike I'm going to have to see about shipping tyres from Europe. Every time I see that guy selling a pair of dunlops at 80GBP I get upset. So praying I can sort something out before being forced into a very cheap to run car doing 5 times the mileage for the same tyre cost, not to mention less fuel and diesel is 20 per cent cheaper then petrol too. It's just no fun and really quite an unpleasant trip in a Citroen C3 hdi.... Whereas on the bike it still brings a smile to my face twice a day and goes along way to balancing out the misery of the job itself. If I was to be buying tyres locally and doing home servicing (which I do) exactly half my measley pay check goes on the bike. If I was to have a 1000 sports bike it'll probably eat all of it. Seen an accidented 600 monster for only 700 GBP ( sad revere was 1000) which would be a fun project with some killer LED s on the front.

Need a CBR250 shame they're only in Asia. So many nice bikes elsewhere. CB250 hornet in Japan, CG300 in Brazil.... I know it's only a 125, but they do sell them here: www.honda.nl/motorfietsen/modellen_cbr125r.php (sorry, it's Dutch...but you can see most things) And a real 250, but more a supermoto: www.honda.nl/motorfietsen/modellen_crf250m.phpBut wait a while for the new license rules to kick in properly and I guess both the range in 125 and 250/300 will go up.

They may have been sold here, but the Vietnam built 125 would be very hard work on my ride a 250 would be nearly as cheap to run with alot more power.
