Hi All,
Newbie to the site, and what a fresh looking site it is may I add, I have just bought a 'vintage' NTV 600 revere - showing 76K miles, saved her from her 5th year of solitary confinement in some blokes shed, and have had some fun sorting her out and getting her back on the road.
I had her MOT'd the other day and now realise don't know the on posn or the reserve posn on the fuel tap.
I know facing toward rear of the bike is off, I suspect on is upwards and reserve down, but I am not too sure and don't want to find out when it's too late and I have no juice left.
Hope someone can let me know ;D thanks
Dave

Welcome to the site Just a pic from the past I made: Also, I just found this out the other day: when you take of the side panels, and remove the plastic from the switch, the options are actually printed in the switch (just in case it ever got swapped I guess)

this just happened to me
fuel tap is pointing up ''on position'' i am on the bypass i take the slip road my bike cuts out guess what i am out of fuel and my fuel tap is pointing up and no the fuel tap has not been messed with
the fuel tap is on and i run out of petrol ,,,,,,,,, no joke no warning what the hell it gets worse another guy on a new spanking honda stops and askes if i am ok i explain i am going to push it to the garage only 6 mins up the road he jumps back on his bike forgets to turn th alarm off and it starts whailing and flashing lights. he turns his bike off and tries to start it flat battery so he begins pushing his bike with me.
i get to the garage and fill the bike up but the battery is now dead 30 mins later the rac turn up and jump start the bike yep it was out of fuel and the bloody fuel tap is still pointing up
i cant warn everybody enough DO NOT TRUST THE BIKE TO GO INTO RESERVE
