I've just turned 50, so I must be going crazy: I'm going to sell my trusty NTV650. If anyone want to come & have a look: I'm situated in the Netherlands, near Zwolle. Currently at ±94.000 km, so only just run-in For any photos & more data: just click on the link to my site below. GvS Oh yes, how much do I want for it: I think a reasonable price would be around 1250 euros.

Does this mean you're getting a V-Strom? Will be sorry to see you go. Thanks very much for all your advice and going to the trouble of writing it up on your website - please don't take it off-line!
Enjoy your riding, whatever you get to ride on!

Enjoy your riding, whatever you get to ride on! Yes, I'm seriously thinking about buying a V-strom. And, no, I won't be going, because this forum is for NTV & Revere enthousiasts, which I will remain. There are more forum members (even admins) that no longer ride an NTV & are still active on the forum. Also I won't take my website off-line, but perhaps it will be moved to a different location (you'll get a new link then). GvS

Bit far for me... you look a big chap and the revere is so small.... You said in one of your firsts posts that you're in New Caledonia. If that's the island somewhere between Australia & New Zealand, then yes you are a 'bit' far away. I'm not a very big chap, quite average size I would say. But the NTV is getting a bit too small for me. Nothing to do with my size, but more to do with my age. I have some trouble bending my knees far enough to put my feet on the pegs. Having had an accident, which destroyed my right knee a long time back, doesn't help a lot in this case. I haven't sold it yet, so you're welcome to come and have a look GvS

What's this I see? (actually I recognised your bike on motorshopper.nl!) Well...mine still works...so no point in getting another NTV....but good luck with the sale. One tip, perhaps you could write a slightly longer piece in the ad? Perhaps explain about some of the modifications you have made to the bike? People might be more interesed in it if you do. If you get the V-Strom...I still have a few parts for sale But I know what you mean with you legs/knees. My knees aren't perfect anymore either, and I do prefer the riding position on my Diversion to that of the Revere. Having said that....I don't get to ride either way much lately The V-Strom does have a very relaxed seating position, but with bad knees I had trouble keeping it upright in the mountains when coming to a stop. But perhaps that was down to the fact the dl1000 was bl**dy high, even with a lowered seat The dl650 should be quite a bit lower.

From experience (I've ridden both) I can tell you that the "Wee-strom" (DL650) is a much better ride that the V-strom (DL1000).
Which parts of the V-strom do you still have for sale ?

Mostly, the little spoiler off the bottom (I fitted a skid plate) and the original seat, which is higher than the seat of the 650. (and the seats of a 650 and 1000 are compatible) I haven't tried a 650 yet...but maybe I shouldn't.....because I will want one if I do like it.

Thanx, I'll keep that in mind. Not going to buy parts for a bike I haven't got yet :-)
