I was thinking of getting a 125 scooter. What is the realistic top speed of the PCX without thrashing it ? Keep us posted on the mpg too !

Oooh MCN do seem to love it if you compare that review to other scooter reviews they do! Well it will do 60mph no trouble i haven't been on any big roads with it yet so im not sure on the top speed i have been quoted 65-70mph i am around 125lbs 6'ft and i am comfortable on it. I took a pillion on it yesterday of about the same build as me and to be honest in town you dont feel you ever need more power then it gives, even hills dont seem to much bother. When your riding it, it does feel like a larger bike and not so much a little scooter because of the riding position, it also makes you feel very confident in the bends with the slightly larger wheels then most scooters and it handles well in the rain, i never felt like i was pushing it, with the skinny tyres cutting thou the water. I like to play with the throttle when pulling away from lights and i think i get over 100mpg still, if you go to fuelly lots of people get around 130mpg and the quoted is 146mpg i beleave. This is mine and my sisters scooter.. she has a Yamaha Vity 125 getting around 90-100mpg, with the new price of £2,000 it is £600 cheaper then a new PCX125 but without doubt its worth every penny of the £600 and more even. It makes the vity feel like its from the stone age. I bought the PCX because i really wanted one when they came out back in 2010 but couldn't afford one at the time and my local dealer J.S Gedge did me a fantastic deal on this and i couldn't resist!

Looking great, well done Mine's filthy at the moment. Just ridden home through slush & snow, so will need a good wash at the w/e. Still won't look like yours though!

Thank you! I'm sure mine would be filthy if i rode it in snow too! i don't even ride it in the rain! i have scooters for that there much easier to clean! I'm guessing it will only do 1,500miles or so a year, its done 400 since November! Excluding the 300mile ride home when i collected it.

Always good to get that sorted.
I do like both bikes, also the fact that the NTV does not look dated next to your dads bike.
Ok your dads bike has a more radical look. What is it like in terms of riding position?

I personally prefer the look of the NTV, the NC700 is more comfortable but the position is very similar to the NTV, just the shape of the seat.
I do really like the NC700, it would be a bike i would consider if i wanted a newer bike, great mpg, good looks, comfortable and cheap for what it is.
