Hey, I am new to the Honda NTV world and have a Revere 600. It gets me to work in style everyday and I have only had her for a few months. Starts every time. even on those cold UK winter mornings. As you can see, she is old and a bit battered and I really want to customise her and do some work but I am new to motorbikes and don't really know where to start. Do you have any ideas? (the white wheels have to go first I know!) Cheers Dan

Hi Dan & welcome. Tidy looking bike, doesn't look at all battered. & the wheels in your images, look fine as are... It's just keeping white wheels looking that way, so yes; I agree where you're coming from, lol! I notice GroovyLee say at the end of his reply; "just to add, i think i have a silver rear wheel if you want it, and can collect from Shefford, bedfordshire" I'll add this one, (On it's second time around.) on eBay: - Honda NTV 600 Front Wheel (Item number: 261092741986) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-NTV-600-Front-Wheel-/221121554520?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item337bdf2858 P&P £10.00 - Standard Delivery from Portslade, East Sussex First noticed this front wheel on eBay, the week before last. It didn't have anyone open the bidding at 99p; So didn't sell! It's been re-listed & finishes; 14 Sep, 2012 @ 09:11 (Friday) Once again the starting bid is 99p & it currently has no bids... May be worth adding to your watch list if you're going silver? Good luck, Dee

Ah....the age-old question & thought process behind bike customization. As Groovylee mentioned - Anything is possible, just limited by time, resources, skill, money, imagination. Are you wanting to do the work yourself or happy for a garage/engineering firm to carry out your ideas? From a starting point have a think about what you want to achieve; Are you after performance or handling, a different look or style, are you wanting to be different or have some interesting engineering carried out? I've been brought up around lots custom bikes & found the Revere to be a very good base to work from as they are bullet-proof, reliable & very simple to work with. I've gone through several changes on my Revere (as seen from my 'resto' thread): Ongoing project (never ending)Rj2para has created a gallery of custom NTV's, Revere's, Bros's, Hawk, etc: Photobucket Gallery. It's worth a look through to see what other people have created & it's a good base to get ideas from. I've a Puig fly screen, a pair of mini-indicators & some Motrax mirrors & I can throw your way for some beers tokens to get you started

Hi Slydan, Welcome to the club. As has been said I think your bike looks quite tidy, then so does mine if you stand far enough away Fiar to say I think Norfolk gets most battered bike prizes www.hondantv.co.uk/n100kgallery.phpYou may want to look at our website: www.hondantv.co.uk/This includes the custom images striderider mentioned (see the Gallery menu) and also some project pages (you guessed it under the Projects menu) detailing changes to the front end etc. Good luck with your project. Rj.

Hi Slydan Q1: Is that a "Pearlescent white" paint job, can or pro ? Q2: What tyres are those that your running ? I really like the current Honda pearlescent white bikes, really trick. Yours could probably just do with a high gloss coat and buff to really make it stand out. I looked at my co vehicle wheels the other day and thought, those metal rims are nicely sprayed there's a metallic flec within the silver paint, with a little bit of googling discovered a new word "Moondust Silver" I've got big plans for "Moondust silver" Also Carbon Fibre films cut into shapes to change the look of the side panels and the tank along with grovvy's suggestions.

Hi Slydan, welcome to the forum as others have been saying, from the photos your bike looks fine, especially if used as a work commute. Groovylee mentions LED indicators, they're not a problem if you replace the indicator relay with an electronic one (circa £15)
If the paintwork is in sound condition and you want to just make it a little more noticeable, I'd suggest adding the decals back. It is quite an expanse of single colour. You can but decals kits from eBay for a reasonable price and they're easy to fit. I'd then suggest a coat of lacquer to finish it off and protect them
Noakira - I'm liking Moondust silver

Wow! Hey a big thank you and shout out to you all for the advice and I have to say that you've given me some well needed motivation/enthusiasm to get more into this.
Most of my friends are not really bike peeps so it is great to find this forum......!!
Ok....
Lee - thanks for the words of advice. I think new exhaust, fly screen and indicators may come into the equation at some point and would be interested in your rear wheel. I could collect next weekend if you are around?
Dee - thanks for the heads up on the front wheel.
NNC - although battered, your bike looks like a lot of fun!!
SR - thanks for your words and links. They will go a long way to helping me with ideas and a way forward. I would certainly be interested in exchanging beer tokens for those parts that you mention so just let me know if its on!
SJ - thanks for the links and the welcome.
Noakira - Its a cream colour paint job (not Pearlescent) and I think it must be the original. I would certainly like to make the paint work stand out. Advice much appreciated cheers.
McF - Yes I would like to find some decals to put up and thanks for your advice too. I will keep searching.
My budget is small but I'm in no rush and looking forward to getting my hands dirty. Looks like I'm gonna be busy!
I do have one question that I am sure you can help with:-
At the moment my tools are limited to those that my dad lends me.......In terms of a basic bike tool kit and essential aids, does anyone have any suggestions to get me up and running?

Bonjour Dan, A pointer in the right direction... 'HEAD SOUTH!' (Why wait for next spring?) Possible PANNIER RACK. (NO top box mounting plate.) I collected a pannier rack from Stevey a few months back. (When he moved.) I claimed it to offer to another forum member. (But he has gotten one sorted.) So it is offered... (Check out post in link below for images of the Kappa rack.) Read more: ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=partswanted&action=display&thread=2734&page=2#ixzz2B2bhUIgAIt is a well useable bit of kit. NO Top Box Mount Plate! (& sides are plastic.) Pre-loved; In need of TLC, lick of paint & a good rub with some 'Back to Black' Image is as collected. (Some Mounting Bolts & a pair of 'P' Clips needed to fit.) Can do more images if required, BUT not for a week or so at least... Well busy! Please read; 'Jaz66' reply on the same post. (The last one on there to date.) Dee
