Hi all, new to the site had my bike for about 10 months now, mainly used for commuting to work, enjoy the bike but do suffer with side winds. Looking to do a basic service in a month or so as have done just under 4k to date, any suggestions on what is the best oil to use? I have some 5w-30w semi synthetic from my last car but not sure if this is the right oil, any other suggestions or help really welcome. the bike is showing mileage of 19.3K cheers

There are mixed opinions on using car oils. Bike manufactures will tell you to use bike specific oils so that they don't upset the wet clutch (car oils contain slip additives which can cause wet clutches to slip more than they're designed to), but there are spently of people who have used car oils for years and never had a problem.
If you want to use a "standard spec" oil, then any bike specific 10W40 semi-synthetic will do. Some people use fully synthetics in NTVs to help the gear change quality, but it obivously costs a bit more.
