hello there . i have had 2 ntv650's in the past and have just baught my self a ntv600 it needs a new lock set as the tank lock is missing and the ignision was smashed and also the back of the clocks has been damaged and seeled with tape
but was thinking. i think the bars on the 650 look better and also the clocks do to . has any one out there had a go at swaping over the yoaks, clocks, and bars all at once ? and if not can some one tell me the diamater of the forks on a 650. as if they are difrent then its a none starter. and i also know i have the 600 fuse box. got to figure were to hide it
the more i think about it the easy option is just repair the locks/ clocks and enjoy . but the bars are just so ugly
and last but not least. i allways found the foot rests a little to high. any one had a go at lowering them at all ? all i can think of is to make some brackets and drop them a bit
any ideas or views would be welcome

Hi Saxby The points you raise are discussed in the forum and also on our website - I've pasted the links below. In summary though, 650 top yokes will fit directly on the 600 as both bikes share the same 41mm forks. However, there are some key things that cause some difficulty. 1. The 600 clocks will not fit the 650 yoke without making an adaptor or having some small plates made - the bolt-holes do not align between the 600 and 650 yokes. 2. As you rightly point out, the 600 fuse box is on the top yoke - I've fitted the fuse-box easily on the fairing mounts on my red 600, but without some form of fairing to hide it you may have to re-route the wiring. 3. If you fit a standard 650 top yoke you can fit either NTV or other bars, but you may have to extend the wiring for the left cluster and potentially buy Deauville choke and throttle cables - but this is only if you raise the bars by more than approx. 2 inches - standard NTV bars in a 650 yoke won't need any mods (other than clock mountings). Fitting lower pegs - there are various options. Some links below on people who have fitted the later Deauville hangers - its a relatively simple job and gives you about an inch or so lowering. I've fitted lowered pegs etc. but again, you may need to modify gear lever and brake pedal for comfort. An alternative approach I have seen is to raise the bars and add an inch of padding to the seat This thread referred to raising the existing 600 bars by adding sawn-off top yoke parts to raise the bars: ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chasistandshandlebsaddle&action=display&thread=1553ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chasistandshandlebsaddle&action=display&thread=1577This thread shows a few mods replacing the standard 600 bar setup with later 650 top yoke and clocks: ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=chasistandshandlebsaddle&action=display&thread=1934&page=1Details of the fork, yokes, clocks replacement I did recently are here (click on the pics to enlarge and you'll see where the fuse-box ended up): www.hondantv.co.uk/nthatsawkwardsforks.phpFootpeg lowering options are also on our website: www.hondantv.co.uk/noutlawpegs.phpHope some of this useful....

I think it you swap over the entire front end, the only trouble would be the fusebox. But then you would have to swap the clocks with it....might be a problem with the milage. Ugly?? I'm looking at a replacement for my revere.....and when it's an NTV, I'll swap the front end of the revere over to the new frame (I love the Revere look)

well the spedo still works so im hopeing i can swap the guts if not then im not to bothered about the millage . finding it hard to get ahold of a set of clocks at a decent price . set on ebay but its a little high . the bike cost me £300 and so was hopeing to sort the yoaks, bars, clocks out for 60-70 quid. allthow its no a rush. got it booked in for a a week from now. cant see it failing on anything realy

The clocks on the Revere are a different size to the NTV, so that might throw a spanner in the works... Not sure what the size difference is, but on the Revere the two clocks differ in size, where as the clocks on the NTV are both the same size a.f.a.i.k.
