Hi everyone,
Considering a few more upgrades to the revere so have a couple of Qs to ask everyone,
Firstly, are CBR600 fork lowers and Deauville fork lowers more or less the same except for the mudguard mounts, so the spindle size and distance is the same and the caliper mounts are the same (as in, F2 CBR forks and pre link deauvilles, so the brembo calipered deauvilles)
Would this mean that I could effectively mix and match with CBR forks and deauville brembo calipers on NTV stanchions with a CBR wheel?
My other option that I'm considering is early blade forks, when they still had the mechanical speedo drive, but Ill see about that. Potentially, 1992-1995 blade lowers (if they are 41mm stanchions, have a feeling they're 43mm) with a CBR600 front wheel (blade wheels were 16 inch) with nissin 4 pot solid mount calipers. I want to get away from sliding calipers really if I'm spending money on the upgrade but might make do, seeing as there are CBR600 lowers for £30 on the bay right now!
Just starting to realise how badly the forks twist with the single disk so the double disk front end really needs to be the next step! The bike tracks to the left under heavy braking which is pretty disconcerting.
My current shopping list is:
New fork lowers (deauville or CBR currently, but fireblade would be nice)
New calipers (If the deauville and CBR are interchangeable, I will go with early dvill brembos, if not then will try and perhaps get a set of Nissins of a vfr800, de link them and use them instead)
V600f2 front wheel, discs and rubber
Spindle and spacers from an f2
I already have a 14mm nissin MC which is just the job, will need one more braided hose, gonna be expensive!
Also, with fuel exhausts, can you still remove the rear wheel without taking the exhaust off?
Thanks!
