OK! How about this:

We split this between the two days, and camp at the Llyn Brianne Reservoir on the Sunday night which is around 170 miles from Poole, and Ill probably be heading to the M5 anyway so we can head to Newport together and get lunch there of something, that should be a manageable journey for one day I think?
That leaves the journey as 165 odd miles each day (or more likely 180 on the first to get the fast boring bits out of the way between gloucester and the Brecons, then 120 dawdling miles on the Sunday?)
The only bit I had to reluctantly cut out was the little loop in the southern brecons

some incredible elevated views but its not worth a 20 mile loop because the view is only very brief by the looks of it.
The Llyn Brianne looks incredible, and would be a lovely spot to camp (you are allowed to!) and even do some fishing if anyones into that. Bit isolated, so no pub but Ill get a crate or 2 for everyone on the way down to make up for that
check it out:

And look at the photos and bit of available streetview, looks really tranquil. Ill research camping there but as far as I can tell it's fine, and free, sign posts around the area advertise it as a camping area so probably fine, but no loos/showers!
Edit: It's also on a pass called the devil's staircase, so could explore that if people wanted!
And Llyn Brianne is a really common wild camping spot, it doesn't have a designated camping field but you don't get into bother for camping there on the conditions that you don't have an open fire (camping stove is fine) as they have had forest fires in the past. Up to everyone else really whether we go wild camping here or find an organised open site and have a camp fire.
Lots of trout in the river, anyone have a rod license?
