I thought I would start a new thread for route ideas. Happy to take route ideas between now and the trip and even over a beer before each leg should a better idea be agreed. Looking at the mapping North Wales seems packed with camp sites so I am tempted to say lets see what we can find. This also gets over the problem of trying to find a site that will take a booking from potentially upto 10 bikers. Booking the Gloucester site I think is a good idea as it will give us a rendezvous point. Norfolk / Hubcap will you be able to come down to Gloucester on the Friday? just so you know Roger, my intention is to stay over at a friends house in worcester on friday night, then meet you in Gloucester on saturday morning. mostly because i will be at a wedding on friday in leamington spa, so don't think i will make it in time to camp. as for routes, i'll just b happy to be in the saddle ;D

No problem Groovy. I will book in to a pub with camping then we can take it from there. Or if anybody books another or recommends one I will go there. We can each book our own pitch too keep it simple.

Yes www.cadwaladersicecream.co.uk/ is in th plan. Re distance camping further South may be a plan as some of the roads are very small / slow. I dont want to have to pitch in the dark Its meant to be a fun trip Sear not hard work.

may be hard work, but streetview suggests it would be worth it! But I know its probably too far, will visit there another day probably, does look absolutely incredible. Then again, the whole ride is going to be pretty spectacular! Attachments:

Its the pass slightly west of a place called ty-newydd farm, stick that in then its the twisty bit on the left. Looks incredible, but a bit out of our way.

lol ;D Just tried. I think "ty-newydd farm" must mean small place in wales as there are lots in North Wales. I you can find it again please then click on the hand cuff 'link' symbol to the top left of the map it will give you a link you can caopy and paste back here. Cheers otherwise I will have to look at every "small place" in Wales

While I love small roads that a 50 mile round trip plus from the ice cream shop, for a 1 mile road that has private road or limited access written all over it. .. Must be some smaller roads near Snowdon you can find..

We could add in this little loop www.drivingroads.co.uk/elan-valley-central-walesAnd another gorgeous minor detour would be to go up to Beddgelert and then do the circular route of up the a498 and round to Caernarfon, where I remember going as a kid and absolutely loving, via the a 4086 and then down to criccieth through the hills again or take a coast road on the way down.
