Firstly; My thanks to Groovylee, for showing me 'Photobucket'... (& more!)This is the Hybrid Revere frame, (1990) in it's Mk2. version. Acquired last year as an unseen unfinished project off eBay. She'd had a tiny solo Yamaha subframe grafted on. (Shelf!) With no room to install the: - Ancillaries, battery, coil etc. Cut the 'shelf' off & had myself on scratch building replacement:- Takes the Yamaha battery & solo seat. (As they came with her.) Hard fittings for the:- Rear coil, rear brake reservoir & rectifier. Relays etc. cable tie up under the front of the seat. Ignition unit 'flat packs' in space below rear of seat. (Siting the fuel pump bracket on unused spring pre-load point.) Although it holds all, I'm not over happy with my effort. Was due to begin assembling frame, (Where's the sun?) to size up & fettle some bracketry for mudguards, etc. (& had dreamed up a quik-fit/removable; 'Sissy-rack'.) However; Starting again as a; Revere framed, Mk3. version. Utilizing a 'Bros' subframe... (My thanks go to Groovylee.)Had a quick compare & looks to be do-able in a tidier fashion. eBaying some bits to measure up & finalize plan. (Ha-ha-ha.) Wanting to keep her larger, (But longer.) Revere tank. & liking her to finish up looking a little more... 'Stock'? Any suggestions to this end; Will always be welcomed... DeeDee PS & I may just nail the Mk2 version together, (For the fun of it.) before cutting to rebuild her in her, (Hopefully improved) Mk3 guise.

Sounds like an interesting project. Other mambers have type rated major changes to their bikes, which can be painfull. Have you a feel for how much you can do to your bike before the work has to be validated by the DVLA? Insurance firm questions re modifications may also be worth looking into. Don't get me wrong I think it is a great project, for which you seem to have all the skills required. It would just be good to know you can legally ride it when it's finished

Not started the Mk.3 version yet, but had a bit of a play in the sun. & with a willing helper, fettled her up to see how she'd have stood. Must admit; I am a little intrigued to see how she would've looked, before altering her subframe again... Engine, (650) from the original; 'Unfinished eBay project' as removed. As can be seen; That is also in need of a complete clean. (& tune up?) I say that with the sellers assurance that the engine was a runner... HA-HA-HA! So, I'll believe that; When I hear it!!! Rolling frame and engine, minus the tank & seat. Rolling frame and engine, with the tank and seat. Scratch built subframe, minus her ancillaries... For the future Mk. 3 version, which is to be Bros subframe based... I now have some plastics for the project. (My thanks goes to Sear.) Think she'll definitely look much tidier with a factory built rear end. DeeDee PS If my mate's still up for nailing more of her together next week. I may add a final set of images before commencing the Mk.3 version!

Good to see her with the wheels on. But still hard to visualise the riding position. Are you aiming for Knees up arms out horizontal?

What I aimed for & what I got; Are two different things, lol! (& that's before I looked at nailing her together; 'For a look'.)
The current build's a compromise of; What I've got that fits... I've sourced a NTV top yoke & Renthals, (Amongst other bits.) but would have to lengthen & source more parts to use these.
They wouldn't have made the ride any more comfortable... And as it was, I wasn't over happy with my effort anyway, hence a planned rebuild to a more stock looking subframe.
I'd carried on with the style of build of the previous owner. I should've cut my losses & started from scratch last year. Whist disappointed with the final outcome of the subframe; It's been a learning curve. (& I'm happy enough with that.)
I'll give her a day next week. (To check ancillaries for fitting.) A mate's down & he's keen to assist cobbling her together? Fingers crossed for some more sunshine then, lol!
Cheers Lee, a Private Message will be winging itself in your direction...

Not having a dig at your design deedee . Interestingly it is not actually a mile away from what Thatsawkward is having done to his Revere. I just hard to visualse without you sat on the bike. (hence the knees up arms out coment, I was actually thinking ape hanger chopper, which would fit with Groovy's idea for a chapter PS. only joking I would be tempted to bolt on some foot pegs and chuck a leg over and see how she feels before you bin the work so far. (If only as a record shot. Kind Regards Roger

Roger, no worries; No dig was read into your reply & you're bang on. sat on the bike with my feet on the floor it's; 'Knees up & arms out'! Don't even need the foot pegs to feel that, lol!
Wasn't going to assemble rolling frame, was just going to start again. A friend convinced me to put the wheels on, (& then chuck engine in.) Hence the images. I want to populate the ancillaries in subframe as that was my headache. & I'll bolt on some foot pegs over the next week. It'll be a loose, dry build, but I'll post the images.
Best regards, Dee
PS If my mate gets handy with spanners; I'll leave him add what he wants.

' Record shots' of the Mk.2 rolling frame. ( A loose, dry build!) Not quite how I had envisioned her... But, she's not that far away. I'd originally intended; Renthals & a pair of aluminium mudguards. Was also going to knock up a; 'Part-time' sissy rack for rear end. But, ancillaries fitted nicely into scratchbuilt subframe; So happy! For a; ' Completed look', I send thanks to Norfolk & his Fingers. Front ' mudguard':- Fitted with fettled bracketry & is well solid. Rear ' mudguard':- Clings on with cable ties, to give proportion. Had I time; Rear would mount a little lower to allow for a rack. I'd planned on a big single headlamp to go with the Renthal bars. But would've made a twin lamp affair if staying with Revere bars. To decide rear lamps, I'd have to see her with/without sissy rack. ' Personal plate' (lol!) For show: It'd be central, standard & legal. Thanks to rj2para for suggestion, (Although I got carried away.) & my thanks to Tony for playing the spanners while I did fiddle. It's been a worthwhile exercise... & re-established where I'm at, OR NOT, lol!
