I have spent today changing the last of the current site pages to the new style.
If you spot any pages that are not in the new style or have errors, then please feel free to drop me a line here or use the contact page on the site.
Thanks in advance.

Hey there, Good job I have some feedback not so much on the style but rather the (image) contents. I think that with some minimal extra work you may be able to have the site look a bit more professionally done. Of course I'd be willing to help as well if you'd want me to What I'm on about: I noticed that (on my PC) quite a lot of pictures seem to be upscaled - a (too) small image source is stretched to fill a (too) large 'container', such as the banner ( click), but also the gallery preview ( click). This causes ugly big pixels to appear, which generally don't improve the looks of the site in my opinion The reverse happens for some images as well: large images are compressed into small boxes, the Weomoto logo is a good example. What I see on the site: According to the info that's this image squished into a 125x57 box How to fix this: downscale the pictures to the proper scale by hand (which is only a couple of minutes work per picture), and for the too small pictures: try not to upscale them An example: If you'd simply resize it by hand before uploading, you'd get a distorted but more pretty picture already: If you resize it properly it looks best in my opinion, but it won't fit the box anymore: If that's important we could fix that by adding some padding to get it back to 125x57: And again the way it is now, cropped, to compare:

Hi Roger, looking really good and working fine on Safari 5.1. The Members Map and the Projects menu links still bring up the old pages? The links look right (ie start with an 'n' which I assume is the new pages?) but they look like the old format. I've done a Safari reset and a reload and still the same...? Other than that I think it looks very cool

Cheers for the feedback lads. Image and graphics feedback is very welcome, I have been working todate on basic layout and css. I will give the images some thought.
If you want to help with the images pozo I am happy to mail you any details you need to work on the images then I can upload them to the site.
The gallery page was the main area I started on and would be good to refine.
Cheers thatsawkward for the cross-browser feedback, I did a bit today, so any feedback is very welcome as that task alone will take a while.

tested in google and firefox. excellent work as always roger... i see a career in website construction looming in the not too distant future. only issue i saw, and i am sure its because you have plans already laid down, is in galleries, the last post clicks on to an empty space ie after stonies bike .. be nice if it ended like gallery one . and maybe not possible, but on an aesthetic note the gallery pics 'Frames' are all different sizes so normally its leave cursor and click next pic etc but sometimes this leaves cursor outside of frame pic, so mouse needs moving ... not a major thing as i said maybe unavoidable (god knows how you do half the stuff you do.. ).. just thought i would mention as a 'wish list' so to speak. otherwise a fantastic effort as always and leaves me in awe at how well you set it out.... and where you find the bloody time from to do it, at all... ;D keep up the good work.

Sure, I'd be happy to Are you planning to change anything from now on regarding the sizes of the images? If not I can just pull the 'oversized' pics (like the wemoto logo) from the site, I have everything I need. In your travel tales section similar things are going on, like on this page Jan gets a bit squished since you're forcing her to be in an almost square box www.hondantv.co.uk/ntripskyspain.php <img alt="NTV Picture" title="NTV Picture" src="/images/SpainDay1/JanGetsHot.jpg" class="floatLeft" width="215" height="210"> For the 'too small' images it's different of course. I can make my own screenshots of the pages you use for the links to the gallery, forum etcetera but do you still have the source material you used for the banner? That is the cool 'bike on the beach' picture For me it would be easiest if you'd allow me to use FTP to your site: I'd be able to make small changes in the php/html to (for instance) put the picture of Jan in the correct aspect ratio and to change the reference, that is to point it to the resized image. For instance I might change the one above in <img alt=" Jan Gets Hot" title="NTV Picture" src="/images/SpainDay1/JanGetsHot _small.jpg" class="floatLeft" width=" 158" height="210"> If you're reluctant to just pass around that login info I can understand, so no hard feelings then To summarize: - I have everything I need to work on the over sized pictures that are currently being squished into smaller boxes
- For the under sized pictures I need the source material if I want to improve anything, for now the banner is the one I know off but perhaps there are more
- It would be fastest should you allow me to actually work on the site via FTP as I can then make minor adjustments in the code (plus upload the resized images myself)
PS: although I'm certainly not great at motorcycle maintenance, I do have quite some experience in general programming and html/php/mysql (css not so much actually but that's very similar I believe) - I promise I won't make a mess of your site

Good idea GvS Hi Pozo, Thanks for the offer of help. I have already made some changes to the Sky & Jan's Spain trip. Your help with the banner and logo's would be very welcome. While I understand your point about access I am also pleased you understand my wish to restrict access to the site. I am more than happy to credit you for any of your work within the site info section. I will send you an email so that we can exchange images off line. Once again I thank you for both your comments and your offer of support. Developent is not my day job, just a fun hobby. But as Jazz says it does take lots of my time. All good, not complaining . I will capture all your comments into my testing spreadsheet to ensure they are all scheduled and not forgotten. Regards Roger
