Hi does any one know if the top clamp that holds the handle bars on a ntv will fit the revere i know i will have to move the fuse box and make brackets to hold the clock,s no problem doing that, or would i need the top and bottom bit with the stem in as i wish to put wider bars on my bike or has any one got one for sale or a spair i could try, outlaw

I'm pretty sure you need the correct bottom yoke to go with the top yoke.
I can't remember what the problem is, but I recall trying to mix and match and had some problems.

if you are talking about the 600 and the 650 ( i have both ) the bottom yokes look the same. the fork diameters also look the same. differences are only in the top yoke.. clearly the handle bars are different .. fuse box .. and the mount for the dash is different as the bolt holes are in different places

I think I've got it!
The problem isn't necessarily matching the top and bottom yoke (although you still may have to)
The problem is swapping your top yoke and then finding that your instrument console doesn't fit.
The Revere and 650 Instruments are different and they way they mount to the Top Yoke is very different.

I have replaced the top yoke only on my Revere 600 to that from a NTV 650. No other parts were needed (no bottom yoke, no different taper bearings, nothing)
I removed the 'wire-tray' which had the clocks, instruments & headlight hangers & replaced it with clamps which wrap around the top-stantions (sp?).
The fuse box was re-located to where the tool-kit used to live - although I had to extend the length of the loom by splicing in 8" of cable.

So how are the clocks mounted on your bike striderider?

Clocks?
What r those?
I've a single speedo mounted.
On the ntv650 top-yoke there's 2x 8mm-ish bolts holes either side of where the ignition barrel goes. I've just put a bolt through that. Alternatively you can get 7/8" bar clasps to create a mounting bracket

So I've spent weeks polishing an NTV650 top yoke to fit my Revere and just read this thread... Can anyone tell me how the 650 clocks actually fit to the bike? I can't quite understand Striderider's description of clamps wrapping the around top stansions?? Any help appreciated..... thanks!

Hi Thatsawkward, Here's some 'any help'... For what it's worth: - (Please bear in mind; I'm a newbie who bought an unfinished project and several boxes of bits, lol... So await more valued opinions than this.)
Like yourself, I have acquired a NTV top yoke... Wanting to perform a similar mod for myself... So I'll be following yours with interest!
I believe:- Revere top yoke instrument cluster fixings have: Two & a half inch centers. NTV650 top yoke instrument cluster fixings have: Six inch centers.
Taking a line through the center of the instrument cluster fixing bolt holes on the Revere's instrument cluster mount plate... The six inch point leaves one with very little 'meat' to work with... A fair bit of fettling may well be the order of the day to keep the looks... (I'm considered fabricating bracketing of 'some' description.)
ALSO:- Another thing I have noted for my project: The head lamp mounting bracket appears to fit into the top yoke of the NTV further forward & outward than that on the Revere yoke??? (That is assuming that I do have the NTV yoke!) Revere head lamp mounting bracket fixings have: Four & three quarter inch centers. NTV650 head lamp mounting bracket fixings have: Five inch centers. The Revere siting holes for this bracket being situated further back than the NTV by about: One and a quarter inch...
Therefore: - The NTV head lamp mounting bracket incorporates the 'wire tray', & may be another part you'd like to consider sourcing to keep your loom cable tied & tidy behind your head lamp.
Please check out my beliefs carefully before proceeding with any actions based on this information! I'd appreciate your checking my findings on your NTV yoke & confirming my belief, or let me know; I've yet another part of unknown origin... (It gets worse... lol!)
Hope something of the above is of help to you, Deedee
PS The top yoke I'm working with fits the Bottom yoke & stanchions of a hybrid Revere/NTV a treat... So I suppose it could even be from a Deauville?

Thanks Deedee, very helpful. This is my topyoke which I'm polishing.... May help you compare to yours... I'm pretty sure it's from a 94/95 NTV 650.... Looks like the ignition/key will bolt onto the bottom of the top yoke okay, and everything else aligns - it's just the clocks. So I think the only way forward, as you say, is to make a bracket to attach the clocks to the top yoke. I'll see what I can come up with and keep you posted! Re the headlight mounting, I'm fitting a fairing so I've already moved the light forward a few inches (and had to extend wiring etc!)... Thanks again for your help...

Oh yes, I do like that! Many thanks for the image's... That does look nice...
From above it looks the same as my yoke, (Well, not quite... Mine is scraped, scratched & scabby, lol!) but guestimating the proportions from the images, I reckon mine could well be the NTV yoke that it's meant to be.
My apologies for not posting images of the headlamp bracket locating holes in my Revere & NTV top yokes, (Which're off the bike.) for you to be able compare; I'm still awaiting my friends daughter to show me how to upload things... I did read the thread about posting pictures... But, it's all double Dutch to me, (Sorry if you're reading this GvS, lol!) I'm just not in the least bit computer proficient yet... But I will try to get something into the gallery at some point. DD

Why is everyone so keen to mount the NTV top Yolk? If I ever do get an NTV I'll be asking for those Revere Yolks!

Why is everyone so keen to mount the NTV top Yolk? If I ever do get an NTV I'll be asking for those Revere Yolks! For me, it was purely to change to bars for a wider, more laid-back riding position.
