Hi Friends, Today I woke up thinking about walking on a beach ... So, Why not ? Took the aunTy and went to the beach for breathing that fresh morning air, relax and take a walk ... Here are some photos (maybe good candidates to the next background ?! ;D) : We have a small railway along all the beach line, which is used only on summer to transport people along the multiple beaches. At this time it looks almost abandoned, but still a good motive to a picture with the NTV. See the sign on the right ? Most of the beaches also have bars, so the train is also convenient to catch the drunk people . On summer people stay on the beach and on the bars at very late hours ... Some just cant reach the train at all ... They fall asleep on the beach all night long ... Despite the sun, temperature was rather cold, so the beaches were desert, and I love desert beaches. Smelling the sea and listening to the sound of the wind blowing through the dunes while watching the sand moving along is always a good way to start the day ;D The photo below was taken in a forest on the way to the beach... I thought it was worth a stop to take the picture :-) I had some nice experiences trying to drive the NTV on the sand ... It is not an easy task... Rear wheel keeps spinning and for one or two times almost got stuck in the sand ... But always managed to get out ... No worries. Did you notice the subtle changes on the bike ? New (original) front and rear indicators, polished front shocks, new Handlebar and grips. Still missing the centre stand, but I will be working on it next week. Hope these can also inspire some of you to a ride ! :-)

The photos are terrific, but then cyphron's always are (but then come to think of it, we get lots of fantastic photos on here) It is time to change the background image and it looks like it is down to me, but time, inclination and enthusiam.... The weather looks superb, despite you saying it wasn't too warm, your bike photos could have been so much better with a few scantily clad beauties draped across them. Rain on the south Coast? Well I'm up in North Yorkshire and it's been beautiful all day. I got 6 miles walk (still can't run following my crash) in with my dawg this morning and then a spot of remembrance at the local spot - no trouble makers for us (they'd have been sorted out by the boys from t'legion if they had)

All stunning pictures. And very worthy of background status. A collage springs to mind.

Fantastic photos, makes me want to move to Portugal! I've used the photo of the bike in the woods for my wallpaper on my laptop.

You noticed that ! Eh eh ! It was a happy coincidence, because when I took the shot I was not thinking about being a part of the scenery ... But there it is ... Me, my bike and a beautifull beach ;D Just for the record, a classical black & white HDR shot (still studying the technique...)

Let me show you some work I've done with the pictures I took from the beach ride. I am still improving the HDR technique, but I guess the photos below really can already be good candidates to our desktop wallpapers. The first one almost seems like it was painted by hand and the Black & White ones have something that makes them special ... I dont know why, but the feel so much more refined to me. This time I posted Higher resolution photos (1280x1024). I hope you don't mind. img258.imageshack.us/img258/5718/dsc0153abtonemapped.jpg[/img]Hope you like.

This time I posted Higher resolution photos (1280x1024). I hope you don't mind. Hope you like. Mind - of course not, they're terrific, what masterpieces! As soon as I saw the first I thought, must make that the new background, then I saw the third and now I cannot make up my mind which of those I prefer.

Love them all. Even better in high resolution. Tempted to flip the B&W into negative. I did that with a shot of the London Eye with quite pleasing results. I think I will set up a sub picture board in the club image store for members pictures / artwork. Hope you don't mind me taking copies? This one is now set up as my wallpaper.

Hi Cyphron, Allthough I admire you photo's a lot. Would it be possible that you reduce the size before you post them ? Your image is 1580 x 1050 pixels. Below is an overview of the most used screen resolution settings used: As you can see your photo will only fit on the screen of 8% of users. All the other users will have to scroll (left/right & up/down) to see the complete image. This doesn't do justice to your photo's.I normally resize my photo's to a width of max. 600 pixels. (I also use the "save for web" option in photoshop, which reduces the download time a lot). GvS

You are right. Last picture was posted without resolution worries. My fault. Sorry. Will not happen again.
Any picture I will post here in the future will be in the 1280x960 resolution, since it is the most used by the users.
I used to post pictures in 800x600 resolution, but when it comes down to wallpapers this is not the best resolution to the most of users nowadays, so I thought it would be better to post larger resolution pictures, making them easier to adapt to any user with a simple resolution downsize.
The drawback is obvious ... Longer download times and screen scrolling, so your suggestion is welcome.
Thanks.
