Well Blackhonda...I am intrigued. How and where does it all fit, can we have a pic without the boxes on board? On the boxes those pannier look huge..how big are they..I helmet size or two. How effective is the rack and how much/difficult was it to manufacture and get it to fit? Lots of Q's i know but it does seem to be a real issue getting the racks for these bikes, and you may possibly have found a viable alternative...

Very nice looking set-up. and a Great first post.
I like the pictures, looks like you were getting a shift on.
1988 and the 600 engine block. Good to see the NTV tank fits, or did it need any mods?
In my hast to read the post, did you modify the carrier? Or make it from scratch and then add fittings?

Hi BlackHonda, I agree with rj2para: excellent first post You seem just as keen to make modifications to you bike as I am; check out my site for the things I've done to my NTV: www.stoeretassen.nl/My_NTV650/Index.htmHow did you fit the hand protectors ? (Make ?). GvS

Wow, superb I'm guessing you designed and made the frame yourself. If that is right and you can cope with the demand, there will be many people keen to talk about exchanging beer vouchers for one of their own. Welcome aboard, great first post, keep it up

I should have added my two bits and congratulated you on an excellent first post,..but i was too busy wondering about the frame to think of it.... as McF says, there could be a market for such a set up, small perhaps but there none the less. As a bike it is more a tourer then a sports bike so some luggage set up would be a good idea. IF it was being sent far away to be sold, i wonder if the bars linking the top box carrier to the lower frame bars (just behind the wingrack pannier holder ) are welded..would it be possible to consider making that with a bolt holding it together so then it might almost be a 'Flat pack, self assembly' job for who ever wanted one? Obviously jumping the gun a bit..may be too much work and no one wants one...but who knows. Given me food for thought...my Rf crowd are always on the hunt for a rack (renntecc make one for £60+ ) but the wingrack style is over £200 new and rare as a gordon brown gaffe free day... ;D

Hi all wow lots of positive reactions - Thanx Soooo many questions i'll try to answer them all The first problem was where to fix it all to the bike - I found 4 good places without loosing the rear grip Then cut and bend all the pieces untill they fit - first I drilled holes and put it together with nuts and bolts and when I was sure that it was sitting right welded it all together quote:Graaf van Salland (nice website btw) How did you fit the hand protectors ? (Make ?). nope I ordered them on the WWW - (about €16) www.japparts.nl/A Tip: I ordered this handy throttle lever - it fits in the palm of your hand - great for all but especially riders with wrist problems like me www.japparts.nl/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=905_1267&products_id=10294quote:rj2para (Bisto) 1988 and the 600 engine block. I am good at that. "quote:rj2para (Bisto) 1988 and the 600 engine block. I thought the 650 had an internal oil feed, but this could be a UK position. Or I could just be talking rubbish Hence the random comments re the tank. I still say she looks great so please do not worry about it. Some closer shots of the frame would be interesting.

Ah another Dutchman ;D Thanks for waking me up, Buzzin. I never noticed BlackHonda's location. En dus ook van mij: welkom op dit forum. We might have to go bi-lingual I had been wondering why BlackHonda's link was to a .NL-site. But never looked any further than my nose was long...... (double-dutch, that is). Bij de weg: ik heb deze handkappen niet kunnen vinden op deze site. Ride safely GvS

Quote: Graaf van Salland "Ah another Dutchman ;D'' - a Welshman living for 30yrs in Z.Holland I met a Dutch Blonde and never went back ;D I probably bought those hand protectors when i was at the shop in Wormerveer - they were originally fitted to my beloved CB650z R.I.P. Quote: rj2para (Bisto)[/b] "Some closer shots of the frame would be interesting" I bought the bike in January 2010 in Almelo (NL) for €950 with 16,700km on the clock. There were two previous owners: the first was a lady who was a little afraid of the bike, the second: a man who used it for sunny days out to Assen etc, so I ended up with the bargain of my life. I'm so happy with the bike it just needed a new Battery and a service, the gearbox sounds sometimes like a welsh tractor but it starts first time, drives like a dream and handles very nice even with my Dutch Blond and all the luggage on the back One problem I had was every time I clicked the indicator switch on or off I somehow managed to also touch the Horn button leading to a few embarasing situations. The answer was to make a small metal plate and shield the Horn button off
