Hi all. First post here. Off tomorrow as stated to look at a 13,500 mile from new Revere 600 NTV. Full history and service history and fresh mot.
I'll post back in a day or two. I'm sure there will be plenty of questions and advice sought off you guys.
Love a V twin so with that and Honda build quality I reckon were in for a treat.
I've heard loads of good stories about these bikes
Thanks
Janner

Hi Janner, it`s not even run in properly at that mileage! NTV`s are capable of intergalactic mileages with nothing more than routine maintenance so you could have a bike for life if you settle into it. Post up your first impressions and a couple of pics if you buy it.

Newbie here, and I am buying the above NTV600 from Jon (Janner). No, he didn't have it for long but it seems just the bike for me. I live in Bearsted, Kent, and have owned bikes for the last 50+ years. My two biggest rides was in the US with a six week trip from Vancouver down to the Mexican border before swinging up to Toronto. A couple of years later I returned to ride 17,000 miles from ew Jersey to California and back in three months. I took my own Pan European on both trips. I seem to have taken a rest from riding during the last couple of years, and I am whittling down my small collection of bikes. My Honda GL1000 is nearing the end of it's time on Ebay and the next one to go will be my BMW R100GS-Paris Dakar. I am keeping my R100/7. Anyway that's enough about me.

Wow wonder why Jon didnt keep it? Anyway, hopefully you'll enjoy any stress-free miles on the NTV!
I find that because its not valuable (nor even MY favourite bike -sorry!) it is a very stress-free thing to own, go camping with, or leave u attended in town. When mine got "parked into" recently, my nain emoti was relief rhat it wasnt my XBR! (Parker did a runner, bit someone else grassed him up, so he has been round to pay for the damage as the cops are looking to prosecute him!).

Brendon, I'm unsure why Jon, who was so full of plans, decided to re-sell so quickly but it seems that his heart ruled his head, and that he has more than enough with other hobbies before realising he'd made a mistake. Or he's bought a turkey which I shall now inherit. Seriously, it's to my advantage. She appears to be in good shape for it's age (I should stop called her 'it') and such low mileage. In fifty years of bike ownership, I've never owned such a low mileage machine. To buy her I've had to sell one of my bikes, a Honda GL1000, to make room in my workshop and to provide the money. The top bidder dropped out after 24hrs saying he'd received an 'unexpected tax demand'. Hmmm. Still, the 2nd bidder still wanted the GW and is coming up from Wiltshire to collect her in the morning. So I shall hopefully be getting my grubby mitts on the NTV in the next week or ten days or so.
I found this forum quite by chance, as I usually go to the HondaNTV650&NTV600Revere Facebook page which is far busier than this one. I wonder why this is? No doubt there's tons of useful information within these pages but so few recent posts. Strange.
Quite by chance, one of best mates bought an NTV600 for £500 only a couple of weeks ago, and as he lives five miles away, we can swop notes. He however needs to do a thorough nut&bolt restoration as his bikes are always immaculate. Powdercoated frame and wheels, rechroming, etc.
Right I'd better get the GW and it's paperwork ready for her collection tomorrow morning.

Glad to see someone keeping another one in the fold! I have to say I`m a bit surprised that you are taking on a bike that is so much physically smaller than your others, but as long as you don't mind the downsize, I don't think you`ll be disappointed. We have all manner of bikes, from a BSA C15 up to our "nutter" bikes, a Blackbird, a TL1000S, and a VMAX. The NTV600 is my other halfs bike but I love taking it for a blast every now and then, and it`s her "for ever bike" as I was told that I MUST do a nut and bolt restoration on it this year as she'll never sell it as she loves riding it so much. She has toured all over Europe on it Three times in the last two years. Like I said in my earlier post, they are capable of covering massive mileages with nothing more than a bit of routine maintenance, so you'll be able to rely on it for a long time if you get on with it. Post up some pics so we can cast an eye over it.

Numpty, The clue is in my age (72yrs) and height (5ft8in). I was always on tip toes with the CX500, Pan and R100GS-Paris Dakar and the GL1000 was always unrideable because of tuning hiccups. I went to my mate's house the other day and sat on his. Apart from my hip joints slightly protesting (an age thing again), it was absolute luxury to be able to touch the ground with both feet. I'll have to read up about adding images on here, however she remains in Darkest Cornwall and I'm in Kent, so it'll be a short while until I actually take possession of her. In September we downsized from a chalet bungalow with a 1/3rd acre garden so another chalet bungalow with a postage stamp garden and a two-storey workshop) ;-)

Looks like a clean bike, lets hope why you moved there, isn`t it ?!?!?!you can keep it that way! Never mind the size of the property, all you need is a luxury workshop, which is probably why you moved there, isn`t it ?!?!?!?! A couple of pics of my other halfs bike,

I was badgered into moving here as even though I had a gorgeous three-car timber workshop, we also had a 1/3 acre garden and even though I love gardening, it just got too big for me. It was in a rural setting with a bus every two hours and no shops or a decent pub within walking distance. So I finally agreed on the condition that a decent workshop was paramount. And that's what I have. I have had to reduce the size of my collection of bikes and my Honda GL1000 went to a new home this morning with my R100GS-Paris Dakar to follow shortly.
I spent a few hours today trying to arrange the collection of the bike from Cornwall and to bring it back to Kent, 300 miles away. Silly me as I thought for that money, £180, the driver would take his van down there and back in a day. No, they need to wait until they have a van full and even then it might remain in storage for a week or ten days. Still I should have her back towards the end of the month.
Yes the Purple People Eater looks very nice indeed. Not many bikes look 'right' with white wheels but these do.
I've been browsing through old posts on here and there's a wealth of useful information to be found. It just seems such a shame that this forum is no longer used much, if at all. All the threads I've been reading are years old. I wonder why that is?
Anyway mine should be reaching me by about 19th/20th or so.

Yes, it does seem strange, and a shame that the use of the forum suddenly dropped to next to nothing, I think facebook is to blame. Personally I can`t stand facebook and prefer forums as the info doesn`t get diluted down with all manner of other inane bullshit. Unless you`ve already booked your transport, Anyvan can give you a confirmed delivery date that is usually quicker than that, and prices aren`t too bad, unless it`s them you`ve used?? You`ll still be able to find almost all of the info you need on here though in the tech pages, and I do check in at least every few days, so if I can be of any help I will. Keep posting, even if it is just two or three of us, it'll keep the forum alive, hoefully

I know what you mean about Facebook. At least here a search will quickly take you to the subject you're searching for. However I like the FB page as it is busier with two or three posts daily. I shall still come over here for reference purposes but for chat I prefer the FB page. I'm told that the previous Danish(?) chap sold his bike and lost interest in the website, so perhaps someone else could take on the website and the role of 'moderator' although there's no moderating as such to do. I tried Anyvan but they were undercut by Motorbiketransporter.com who MAY collect the bike next Monday if things pan out or MAY collect over that weekend or Tuesday. A bit airyfairy if you ask me, however I should get the bike next week(ish). As the seller and his wife are out at work much of the time, collection is going to be a bit awkward. I went on the DVLA website recently and checked on the bike's MoT record as I am curious about it's low mileage - 13,000 miles on a 1991 bike - which lists the mileage for every year from August 2007 until the present day. 2379 miles @ 216 miles a year. Astonishing. Between May 2015 and May 2017 she did 76 miles! I now have a reprinted factory workshop manual to browse through and can see that one of the first 'jobs' will be to source a rack. For once I shan't be opting for a top box. They are a bit ugly except on a big tourer so see if I can get away with a rack and a small waterproof tie-on bag, with throw-over bags. If that won't do I have some classic Craven panniers in the loft to fall back on. The Hepco & Becker pannier frames and rack look very tidy and far neater than some of the very ugly options, but at over £250 a heft price tag. Incidentally she's a J-reg 1991 NTV600K although the 'K' just seems to refer to the model that year and is mainly no different to other years. She has nine months of MoT left and is currently SORNd. Numpty and BendanO, I'm off. Sorry but the Facebook page does actually get used with one post every day or so unlike here. I'll pop back every now and again just for reference purposes though. It's such a waste. Hopefully we'll chat over there.
It's called 'Honda NTV650 & NTV600 Revere'.
