Hi oldgreyhair, I've tried a few pads over the years and maybe it's the way I ride but have not found a lot of difference in performance or longevity between them. It's possible that the metal content in sintered pads could lead to faster disc wear, the price you pay for better theoretical heat dissipation. Modern discs wear fast enough!
I've ridden NTVs for a few years (on my second one now) and the advice on this forum from a few years ago used to be that the Honda ones gave the best pad life. Despite being averse to paying dealer prices I did try them and they do seem to have a bit more meat on them, and perform well enough for my needs. On balance I would use them again.
I can't say that I've suffered from brake fade with any pads (not riding 'ard enough obviously), and have never run out of brakes. The single front disc is effective and does not seem to be as prone to suffering from winter salt problems as some.
There are my opinions for what they are worth, possibly not too helpful. No doubt a seriously hard rider will be along soon with a load of contradictions!

Thanks for your thoughts, do you know if the Honda originals are sintered or organic though? Hehehe!!!
