Hi, I have brought a 1988 Honda Bros from a sweet middle aged lady who owned the bike since it was imported many years ago, The bike is in fantastic contrition, its an E reg with 34000 KM on the clock. Theres loads of history with the bike and the engine sounds so smooth with absolutely no untoward noises. Took her out for the very first time today. Absolutely no power whatsoever, couldn't even reach 40 mph. It did run out of fuel whilst on tickover the other day, so I'm hoping it may be a blocked fuel filter, however things aren't normally that simple. The choke doesn't move either and the temp gauge doesn't rise when on the move, rises ok when standing and fan kicks in and out fine. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

On our bikes chokes can stick, always worth disconnect the cables and making sure they're pushed all the way in too. Agree with gills too, so either way if a simple float chamber drain doesn't help, it's probably a carb clean that's in order.
