I got dragged along to Loomies by some bloke I used to work with. Well, I say work - I did, he just sat around looking Northern and drinking tea.
And there I was, sat sitting, at Loomies on my own - waiting for said bloke to turn up with his other friends and he made me wait a whole 30 minutes before he purred in on something he called a Pan??
It then turned out that his other mates were already there - also waiting...
So, you see, I joined this forum to see if he was as popular as his many mates seemed to suggest when he eventually turned up. Oh, and he then went on to demand large cups of tea from anyone within ear-shot.
And that's all I have to say about that.

I got dragged along to Loomies by some bloke I used to work with. Well, I say work - I did, he just sat around looking Northern and drinking tea. The way you say that! Makes it sound like you think it's a bad thing And there I was, sat sitting, at Loomies on my own - waiting for said bloke to turn up with his other friends and he made me wait a whole 30 minutes before he purred in on something he called a Pan?? 22 minutes if we're exact - I was being "fashionably late" ;D It then turned out that his other mates were already there - also waiting... So, you see, I joined this forum to see if he was as popular as his many mates seemed to suggest when he eventually turned up. Oh, and he then went on to demand large cups of tea from anyone within ear-shot. And that's all I have to say about that. I seem to recall you were happy to drink the tea everyone else was buying for you - but not as fast as you could drink it! We did rather well though - to have introduced you as "Billy" (no mates) and everyone thought that was your real name No answer yet from you re a ride this weekend - I left voicemail on your mobile

Bought a topbox & rack from a chap I'd made contact with on another forum and he sent me a link to this one. Being a bit of a forum tart at times I thought "Why not?", so here I am....

I was using Google to look for starter motor current and stumbled on a lengthy post in the Deauville Specific forum (to which I linked from www.nt-owners.com/)

Hi CindiK and welcome to the forum.
Did you find an answer to your query? I'm afraid electrics are not my strong point, but there are many members on here that know one end of a piece of wire from another

Hi CindiK and welcome to the forum. Thank you! Did you find an answer to your query? I'm afraid electrics are not my strong point, but there are many members on here that know one end of a piece of wire from another I was looking for an estimate of starter current draw, and it looks to be about 100A. I'm toying with the idea of putting an ammeter on the bike.

I was looking for an estimate of starter current draw, and it looks to be about 100A. I'm toying with the idea of putting an ammeter on the bike. As previously warned - on electrical matters, I know just about enough to be dangerous! I am curious about the starter motor drawing 100A, mainly because the main fuse is only rated at 30amp, so I'm guessing the current draw (unless there is a fault!) should be less than 30A. I have a voltmeter fitted to my mighty Pan (ST1100) and it's very useful indication that all is well electrically, especially when I'm running so many extras. I did recently come across a smart device that does all of the above and helps manage main charging. it's an American Product, cost circa $200 and looked easy to install; If I can find the page again, I'll post

As previously warned - on electrical matters, I know just about enough to be dangerous! I am curious about the starter motor drawing 100A, mainly because the main fuse is only rated at 30amp, so I'm guessing the current draw (unless there is a fault!) should be less than 30A. The battery connects to fuse block B directly (bypassing the main fuse), but that's a separate issue. The 30A main fuse runs the engine and the starter relay but, like any starter motor I have seen, the starter relay's switch is connected directly to the positive lead. I have a voltmeter fitted to my mighty Pan (ST1100) and it's very useful indication that all is well electrically, especially when I'm running so many extras. Voltmeters let you know the charge state of the battery, but an ammeter lets you know whether you're adding to or taking away from the charge. I did recently come across a smart device that does all of the above and helps manage main charging. it's an American Product, cost circa $200 and looked easy to install; If I can find the page again, I'll post Is it this? www.kisantech.com/view_product.php?product=CG-25I was interested in it until a web search turned up some disappointing comments about durability.
