HI McF to be honest the main reason was the price Spoken like a true Scot (or Yorkshireman!) ;D. It's nice to know the going rate for aNTy, £675 sounds pretty good with 1 months MOT and Tax. What sort of miles has she got on her? With a basic knowledge and ability to use a spanner, you'll soon master the routine maintenance. As with all modern machines, especially motorbikes, the only big frustration is removing all the other stuff to get at the bit you want to work on. You'll soon become an expert at removing Seat, Side Panels and Petrol Tank before tackling any job. Unless you know that she was serviced soon before you got her, it may be worth spending a weekend doing some basic jobs, replacing oils (Engine and Final Drive), plugs and coolant etc. Pics are always welcome. Are you anywhere near Culzean? I've driven the coastal route south from Ayr a few times and always have a smile when I see the Electric Brae

Hi McF yeah thought it was a good price as it had only 42k on the clock plus the years tax and test . ive had it since november and done 1100 would have been much more if it hadnt been so cold ;D . ive changed oil/fillter final drive oil (managed to over tighten the cap and split) new pads/ seals in calpiers (rear not working right but will get it sorted soon) brake fluid and coolant ( but now have an over heating prob have tried thermostat/replaced rad cap) . thanks to haynes for a good manual on the bike . and as you say the seat, panels and tank have been off and on a good few times already .yeah culzean is only 18 miles from me and the electric brae is a good run good views over to arran .will get some pics up soon of my bike .

Hello All, I found the forum basically because I was looking for answers about which type of fork oil to use in my NTV 650 trike. I stuck it into Google and a link lead me here. The manual recommends ATF but I wasn't sure if it had to be a specific viscocity as I couldn't find anything about that in the manual or on the bottle I'd already bought. It turns out from reading the forum that ATF is all around 10w which is about right judging by what other trikers have said. So thanks to the posts by other members I've already had some benefit from it. Regards Dave

Hello Forum Memebers, Newbie here and also a newbie to my NTV 650 (1995 with 50,000 km). Bought it last year for a bit of freedom and because I heard they were indestructible. So far so good. Will be learning maintenance routines over the next months/years so probably will be here often asking stupid questions and annoying the other members. Thanks for saying that was ok Paul

I used google and did a search using "Honda NTV650 forum" as the search criteria

Yup, I Googlised "Honda NTV650", and thought what a bunch of chaps I didn't start off by wanting a NTV650, but I ended up getting one off Gumtree after reading glowing reports. I ended up getting a '93 with 70k on clock for £520. Needs tidying up and probably a good service but it had 9mths MOT. Not had chance to do much work on it yet cos of the 'orrible weather (and no garage)
