Hi Ray, don't know if this is an option or not???
Under; 'Track My Order', (Bottom left of link page.) Click on; 'About Reserve & Collect' & check out the second bullet point? (I've just come across it now I've time to browse.)
It says; To make sure you get the product you want in store, check the availability of the product you want by using the stock checker on each product page. If the product you're looking at is in stock, reserve it online and it will be ready to collect within one hour. If it is out of stock, then order the product before 3pm and it will be ready to collect from 1pm the following day.
I'm away tomorrow for weekend, so can't test it. Hope that's of some help! (But don't know if it's do-able on clearance items?)

There must be a reason why they're reduced so drastically...... I wonder if they're not much good. If a car can't see you coming with your headlight on, I don't really see that a couple of led lights are going to make much difference.... some car drivers are just beyond hope lol!!

I reserved a set this morning from Winnersh in Berkshire. When I picked them up there was one last set on the shelf, so for the sake of a fiver, I had them too for my other bike. They'll probably still be sat in my garage this time next year with the amount of spare time I have to do things !!

Got this from halfords:
Thank you for your email. I am sorry to note the problems you are experiencing in purchasing the Bike It Daylight Running Light.
This item is now obsolete, we therefore will not be getting anymore stock. The only Store in your area showing stock was the Kidderminster Store, as they have confirmed this is not the case. I will speak to the Kidderminster Store to update their stockfile to reflect this.
I do apologise that there is not one available in your local area and for any inconvenience caused.

Ray, maybe it wasn't such a good link after all... Under the circumstance:- (As it was their computer told you it was in stock!) You'd have thought Halfords would at least transfer one to your local store! The member of staff responsible for taking responsibility was off playing golf yesterday? But, I reckon the main reason why they've been reduced so drastically is; they were so ridiculously expensive in the first place; who'd pay for them? They've had to reduce them to clear the shelves! I reckon £5 (+/-) is about it's money. (Did Halfords actually sell any before?)

I do remember looking at them full price. But my local store looked at me blank, even though their web page said they had stock. :-)
It was a good link, we just did not all get one.
Thanks for posting. It was fun to try. :-)

Having additional lights reduces the chances that a car driver misjudges your approach speed. But I agree: some car driver are beyond hope.
