Hi all. I`ve just found this forum and was pleased to see someone doing just what I planned to do with my NT650V. To me the Deauville is a great bike completely spoilt by all the plastic on it. ( I know, shoulda bought an NTV in the first place!)
So, I had a mad day in the garden with the angle grinder and took off the panniers, as much as possible, all the fairings apart from the bit round the headlight/indicators. I am planning to change the headlight/clocks and indicators soon.
What I want to do is change the tank also. So It`s good to see someone has put an NTV tank on so I know that fits. But I`m wondering if the airbox from the NTV will go straight on also. Any advice gratefully received.

tank does not fit properly......... airbox is a straight swap if you change the tank..........BUT you may need to tune the carb to match also had to change the seat to match the tank im running with original ignition with a bracket from that to mount the revere clocks headlight brackets are off a 600 bandit with fork seals as spacers
if ya need any pics of what ive done................just ask

Yeah, I`ve removed the secondary air system too. Had a massive backfire on overun that I traced to this item. The bike seemed to go better after removal, and it was more economical! I`ve also lost the fuel pump as it packed up and a set of points from Wemoto did not cure it so off it came. Bike runs fine on gravity feed. Just a bit of a cough if you open it up too quickly. So how did you persuade the tank to fit? I wonder if a Revere tank is different again. I`ve no problem altering things, but it is handy to know before any money is spent. I`d like to see a picture of the finished bike. I`ll have to sort some pictures of mine soon...

NTV & revere tanks are the same revere has 1 front bolt dullvile has 2.......all i did was ground a bit away from the front of revere tank & made it fit between the vile tank bolts & put a bracket across rear bolt fits ok tho biggest problem was the tap..........i had to bend the tap out to clear the frame

Hi Wolf, welcome to the forum.
Your post reminds me of my thoughts on an idea originated on the forum: The issues though; involved a Revere with replacement by Deauville parts. 'Raising the Revere.' (Under; 'Technical' - In; 'Wheels, tyres & suspension'.)
While looking into the above, I Looked over a Deauville frame down a breakers. (It was some time after; 'Lats' posted images of his Revere with sculpted tank!) My thought at that time, (Envious of Lats tank.) were the reverse of yours now; To mount the Deauville tank onto a Revere frame. (Leaving the air box exposed.)
I decided; The frames mainly have minor fitment modifications between them. The Deauville tank was mounted on a; 'Step'. (To give clearance for air box?) So, if I'd need the 'step' on my Revere frame for mounting the Deauville tank. I'd reckon; You'd cut the step away for mounting the NTV/Revere tank on your Deauville frame? (Weld a nut in the gusset between spars to bolt the tank down as fitted stock.)
On the up-side for my thought of a Deauville tank grafted onto a Revere frame, is Norfolk's comment of; "biggest problem was the tap..........i had to bend the tap out to clear the frame" I don't reckon on that being something that I'll be needing to consider any more.
I too would like to see some more images of Norfolk's finished 'Dullvile'... Really like to see the finished 'Deauvere' side panels... They do look good! Dee

Well thanks for the thoughts and tips. I`ve got to overhaul all the brakes first(How much!)before I start scouring the breakers for tank, clocks etc.
Winter salt is no good for brakes.
Been thinking that I may do away with the linked system. It does work well, especially in the snow and ice, but now the plastic is off theres loads of pipes all on show up the frame, not to mention the mess on the front mudguard. Just an idea at this stage...

Do Bandit calipers fit? I read somewhere that 600 Hornet calipers will but not sure about Bandits...
