Through the dutch motor forum, I found some video's of the way the dutch police will escort an ambulance (or probably any other emergency vehicle) through town traffic. This video was shot from the cab of the ambulance, during a training excercise.
The escort is performed by 4 police bikers: 2 up front to clear all junctions etc. the commander rides just of front of the ambulance (notice how he gives directions to the ambulance driver through hand signals), the last bike can't be seen in the video: it follows the ambulance & indicates to all stopped traffic that they can move again.
It's nice to see how efficient this works & I admire the skill of the police bikers.

Very impressive, slick drills I'll go for a job with front 1 or 2 sod No 4 at back and those hand signals look just a little too camp for me
But a blue light and 1300cc of get up and go sounds just about right

Very impressive and also very smooth. Some good teamwork going on there.

Was it Maggie in the ambulance ! I doubt it very much. I don't think that Maggie was ever over on this side of the channel. In fact I think she only ever knew of the existence of the following countries: UK, USA & the Falklands / Argentina. GvS
