Thanks Gills and Rj2para, The NTV is running like new with the two new tires (BT45 on the front and pilot Road 3 on the back and all the connections well lubricated ;D I still need to do some small improvements (eg. paint the currently grey cap on the rear wheel white and the caps on the frame need a little refreshment. Other then that I still need to synchronize my carbs and my little NTV-project is finished and I'm going to enjoy the summer. I have planed a small trip together with my brother.. Next weekend, we are going to wisit "touring camp Denmark" (http://www.mctc.dk/?id=2522).. They have the best ice cream with 80% rum and big cold weissbiers ;D Other then that i'm moving next month.. My better half and I are moving into our new "country house" with my own 100m2 garage ;D and 15000m2 grassfields Let the good times role.. Of course the new country house is going to take a lot of my riding time, but if any fellow NTV-riders ever should decide to wisit the northern part of Jutland, I have a spare room, a garage and a cold beer ;D

De Graff Van Salland; Sound good to me.. I do believe that it would be nice to meet all of you fellow NTV-riders over a cold beer..
I could easily compose a few riding destinations, that would be worth seeing..
Either we should meet on the below adress at the "Danish Touring camp". It costs around 8-10 euro to put up a tent per. day, there are great toilet facilities, swimmingpool, cheap beer ;D , a swimmingpool and a lot of attractions in the area.
MC Touring Camp Nødagervej 32 A, Nødager DK - 8560 Kolind
Coordinates: N 56* 20' 53.01" E 10* 37' 46.72"
Or people are welcome to put up tents on our grassfield (together with a few horses)..
Best regards Alex

I have driven the first 800 km this year and the entire motorcycle performs super ;D Its not the fastest motorcycle, its not the newest and badest motorcycle.. But its mine and everytime I press the starterbutton the engines start and the cruising starts ;D The comming weekend my brother and I are going to wisit "Touring Camp Denmark". Do some camping and drink a lot of weissbier More pictures to come. Best regards Alex

Hi all, well the old post have not died yet and I'm still trying to write a little of my progress with the old lady. Last weekend I went to "Touring camp Denmark" with my brother.. We had a perfect weekend together with other bikers. Sitting in front of a bonfire until 2 am in the night drinking cold beers and sipping whiskey ;D So here is a small picture of my old trusty in touring trim. I have a top-box I use in the daily commuting, but didn't need the extra space this time. Best regards from Denmark Alex

Hello Alex, Your bike is looking very good with all the luggage. Just a few more weeks yet & then I'm also hoping to go on a motorbike trip. Question: on some of the photos you don't have a right-hand mirror on your bike. Isn't that required by law in Denmark ? I could not ride my bike without my 2 mirrors (I'm not so fast, so I need to know what's behind me ) GvS

I could not ride my bike without my 2 mirrors (I'm not so fast, so I need to know what's behind me ) GvS Hi GvS, yeah I also like a NTV fitted with lots of luggage, ready for a trip In Denmark its not requisted by law to have mirrors or e.g. indicators on your bike when the bike is older then 1991 or 1994 (I cant remember).. So its basicly not against the law to ride around with only one mirror or without indicators... But when turning on ones bike and not having indicators, the driver needs to use his/her arms to indicate the direction they wish to turn. But thats not the reason for my one mirror... I have simply lost my mirror and havent found an right replacement yet ;D - best regards Alex

Hi Alex, I`ve followed your thread from the start and just wanted to say well done with your restoration, you`ve done a great job. I was looking forward to see how well the repairs on your exhaust turned out though. Did you take any pictures?

I was looking forward to see how well the repairs on your exhaust turned out though. Did you take any pictures? Hi Numpy, Thanks for the kind words.. Its correct that I promised some photos of the repair of my old exhaust.. It must have had 20 small holes and a missing stud where the pipes connect with the exhaust. I had a good friend fabricate a new stud and weld it on.. He did a fantastic work and the new stud looks like its been on the exhaust since 1989 (meant in a good way ) the 20 holes got a weld and a sanding afterwards. At the time the holes and the stud were fixed, I sanded down the welds and painted the hole thing black with some high temperature paint from www.louis.de. unfortunately I don't have any pictures of the welds and the paint, so I will see if I can shoot some photos of the exhaust mounted on my bike, when I get home ;D Best regards Alex

Hi all, Ive been riding my old NTV for the last weeks and things were perfect... BUT... I took my NTV to the town of "Aalborg" yesterday. Its a 45 km drive and I noticed some noice (hammering noise) from my front. It wasn't the engine (thank god) and the noise was only there when the tires were spinning. I thought is was the brake caliper that was hanging, but that wasn't the problem So I placed my NTV on the centerstand and inspected the front wheel.. when turning the front wheel, I noticed a noise I didn't like So I dismounted the rim from the bike and tried to rotate the wheel bearing with my finger.. .....BUSTED... At first I was surprised because its only 1100 km since I inspected the bearings, so why did they fail already ?? And then it came to me... I have had my rims sanded and afterwards painted !! And when I mounted my tires on the rims, I noticed that there were sand inside my front rim I though I had gotten it all out, but.. The clear/yellow grease that I mounted the bearings with were totally black (after just 1100 km in beautiful weather) and between my fingers I could feel that the former grease were filled with some sort of black powder (read: sand) I have made a small video of how the bearings sound when rotating them with my fingers (sorry for the picture of my scary face): Before mounting any new bearings I will try (again) to get all of the sand out of my rim.. Last night I went to my best friend "ebay" and found some new bearings.. I ordered 2 sets of bearings, so I have an extra pair to bring with me on the next adventures best regards Alex

Yes remnants of blasting beads or sand will EAT bearings very quickly. I recommend STEAM CLEANING the wheels hub before carefully wiping the hub through with soft cloth.

Also what is the price of your average beer in Denmark ( not that we drink alot........lol ) Hi SkyHook, What a fantastic idea wisiting Denmark I would say that Denmark is pretty average on campingrates. On almost any campsite it´s possible to put up a tent or rent a small cabin for reasonable prices. I usually camp in my small tent and a single night is usually 60 danish kroners pr. day (8-9 euro) I am a huge fan of dedicated biker campsite "Touring Camp" in Denmark: www.mctc.dk/?id=2522If you and Jan should wisit "Jutland" I really do thing you should wisiting "Touring Camp".. Its fantastic A campsite just for bikers (no cars allowed), swimmingpool, kitchens, bonfires, cheep quality beer (0,5 liters beer 4 euro), a bar that served drinks, beers and food.. What more could one wont ;D There is another camp site (I havent tried it yet): Its located on the island "Fyn" between "Jutland" and "Sjælland".. www.mc-campfyn.dk/index.php?id=2its 9,5 euro pr night in tent, 18 euros for a night in a dormitory or 33 euro for a night in your own bed.. breakfast is a little less than 7 euro 2 euro for a ordinary beer and 3 euro for a special beer. I live in a small town called "terndrup" i the northers part of Jutland.. We have a spare room with a free bed, a grassfield for tent and cold beers in the fridge Both of you are welcome to swing by for a cold beer, a friendly talk and a nights sleep.. Please contact me again if you would like any other info... Best regards Alex ps. Danes like cold beers, so if you like beer you will blend right in.
