My bike is fitted with a Kappa FK42N topcase (see: www.stoeretassen.nl/My_NTV650/Bagage/Luggage1.htm). I've always wanted to have a brakelight in the topbox: there's an option to buy one specially designed for this box. But I think this set would have cost me more than € 30, and also the set has normal light bulbs in them and I don't want to increase the electrical power consuption. So, when I bought the 2 white Bikevis bullets for the front of my bike ( www.bikevis.com/), I also bought 2 red ones. I removed the plastic lens from the lid of the topbox: Then drilled two small holes in the plastic bit that was designed to take the original brake light and stuck 2 red LED bullets in position. The power wire is routed through the box & comes out through a small hole in the bottom. The right photo shows what it looks like when the LEDs are burning. I still have to make the electrical connection to the motorbike. GvS

Hmmm....I had that idea a while ago Although mine is a kit intended for this case....just slightly modified. And I removed the entire box two months ago to fit a bigger box.

Well, I finally managed to make the electrical connections for the brakelight in the top box. And, in addition, I also replaced to original rear light bulbs with LED ones: The light is a BAY 15 D, with 13 LED's. The seller claimed that the 13 LED version had (more or less) the same light intensity as the old one. Personally, I think the LED-version is a bit brighter. I bought them here: www.abc-led.nl/webshop/led-autoverlichting/This is what it looks like fitted to the bike. No lights: Just the rear light: With original brakelight and added brakelight in topbox: I think this is an improvement to my safety, especially because the brakelight in the topbox can often be seen a few cars back (due to the height).
