Hi All NTV lovers, I thought I was the only one.
Just started to get my old NTV650 running again, I put it to the back of the garage when the exhaust started blowing and then life got in the way.
I'll post some pictures once I work out how to use the camera on my phone and transfer pictures etc.
It only has 36000 miles barely run in but is the interestingpuke green colour.
The main things to do are
1. Clean the breaks as they are binding on.
2. Fit new battery, charging as I type.
3. Clean out the fuel system, last time I started was only firing on one, but was getting sparks.
4. Do something about exhaust.
So I'm looking for some advice for 3 and 4.
Cleaning the fuels system my plan is to
1. Empty tank of old petrol and fill with new to above reserve
2. Replace fuel filter.
3. Check fuel pump is working (does ntv have one?)
4. Cross fingers and see if that works
5. Failing above clean out carbs.
Does that sound like a plan any idea other thing to look at.
For the exhaust my plan is to be cheap, there is only a small hole at the front of the original collector, I'll rust treat the collector and if there is anything left after that I'll try various wonder compounds to plug the hole.
This will hopefully get me through the MOT.
After that the plan is to give it a goodish clean, try to remove any rust etc. Treat it to a new exhaust, second hand or failing that a new system from fuel.
Then thanks to a post on this forum, change the colour to something less green. Also add a fly screen
Also looking to add heated hand grips. R&G or Oxford?
What do you lot think are the best modifications?
Cheers
Dave
