Because I can (maybe). I know the Revere is probably the 'worst' base to start with for performance 'mods', but it's a project & I think it'll be fun to see what can be had out of a 20 year old bike. I'm currently in phase II of my 'project' Ongoing project (never ending) where I new front end fron a GSX-R 1100 with twin disks is going on. Phase III will be a new sub-frame, single seat conversion cafe-racer/street-tracker style Phase IV & V is going to be strip-down paint & engine work. I'm starting my research into what can be achieved with the Revere's de-tuned block and found this usefull link: XRV 650 StorySince the engine is going to come out for cleaning & painting, I might as well do some upgrades. There seems to be a couple of options; - An Africa-Twin 750 top-end swap, cams, carbs & CDI - however looks to be about £1000 for a donor unit. I not wanting the whole XRV swap as wanting to keep the shaft-drive - A 700 bore-kit: www.hordpower.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_27&sort=20a&page=1- or just get a stage 3 carb kit & a rolling road to set up - this is a bit 'boring' though This is my my current dyno figures with just the straight-through exhuast & standard airbox, with no carb-adjustments: For those who have fettled their engines, what other options can I look at, or any recommendations on further reading.

I have not done any dyno session but all I can say is : K&N panel filter, free flow exhaust, Carbs jetted to 140 . The bike and engine are more responsive on the right hand twist and strong on the torque. I know it is not data driven but I think it is as good as it will get without spending a fortune.
