Just wondering if there is much work in moving the fuse box from the front bars to some where else on the bike. Does anyone suggest a new home.

It would be a fair bit. You would have to permantly join and hide all the connections in there at the min. And then trace the same wires further back in the loom, cut and insert fuses in that location.
The 650 has its fuse box under the right hand side panel below the tank. But the 600 is designed differently and i think you will be opening a can of worms and a whole lot of trouble further down the line if you move it.
I would recomend upgrading your current one to keep nastys at bay. Abit of black mastic inside and a good clean up and grease of the connectors is all yours should need, if its giving trouble.
take care ed

Thanks for the reply, no nastys, was just looking into changing the front bars from the early alloy ones to a more normal single one. And for this I think I need to change the top bit where the bars bolt down. I was thinking about the right side and just remove the tool holder.

What are you looking to do?
New twin disc front end?
Are you adding a fairing you could hine them in like thatsawkward?
May help with ideas.

Yes for different bars you need to change the top yoke for one from an NTV 650. That creates 2 issues - fuse mounting and clocks. There is no clean way of fixing the Revere clocks to the later NTV top yoke, so you either make a new fixing bracket or replace with NTV clocks.
As Rj2para says, simplest solution for fuses is hidden behind a nose fairing...

Fairing was a bit more work and money than I wanted. Do the 650 clocks just switch over, or will I have prob with rev and speed readings.

They connect up fine into existing wiring with no issue. The issue is only with the connecting bolts for the housing - in completely different position on the later NTV to yoke...

Thought I'd jump in to this one to help out where I can. On my Revere I've moved the fuse box from the top yoke to where the tool-wrap goes (right-hand-side, behind the side-plastic). This was to carry out the same 7/8" handlebar mod you're talking about This entailed cutting the loom & splicing in extension to the wiring so it now fits. I soldered all the connections, covered each connection in two layers of heat shrink wrap, then wrapped all wires in electrical tape then covered of the wires with a protective cover. I kept the tool-wrap caddie & packed the fuse-box in with sponge (to stop in rattling) I knew this is only a temp fix as a longer term plan is to build a new fuse & relay board to be hidden within a cafe-racer style single-seeat hump (and yes; I have snapped one of the plastic mounts for the side-cover, but they will be removed very shortly, so not bothered). Put aside 2hrs, some patience & a 2nd pair of hands (the latter isn't required, but it makes the work so much easier)

Cool thanks for the post, I did'nt think it would be that bad a job. Will deff be doing some wire cutting when I go to put the wires back onto the frame after I finish painting it.
