For those who haven't seen this, I did a sponsored Lands End to John O'Groats in 24hrs last May on a Revere that cost me £500. Details at www.end2end4mnd.orgI did a full write-up at the following link... issuu.com/davidfaithful/docs/end2end4mnd_2011/11Not spectacularly interesting, but I read it again the other night and thought it may be of interest to a couple of others... Toying with the idea (and I do mean toying at the moment, no serious plans) of doing a similar thing again in the future - do get in touch if you fancy doing a similar thing.... the hardest part was doing it alone!! And not having a gel-seat........

Well worth a read and great record of a challenging trip. (and I do mean toying at the moment, no serious plans) I agree with groovylee, you could have a good idea there..

Nice write-up on a fair old ride - pity your personal demons detracted from the joys of the A9/A99 north of Inverness, there really is some cracking riding to be had there! Often thought about doing something like this myself, but "thought" is as far as it ever gets! Maybe an NTV Riders relay round Britain? Something like passing the Golden Conrod from point to point running round the coast, so that no one rider has to do the full X thousand miles. Do we have enough members spread around the country to do this .... admins? Like I say, just a thought ..... PS - Gel seats: had a couple from DanMedica South cut into previous bikes seats - much squishy botty comfort. Thinking about a strap-on (ooer!) for the NTV as my seat's in too good a condition to want to start pulling it apart.

Looking at the map kirriepete, www.hondantv.co.uk/nmembersmap.phpYour "Golden Conrod" could be fun. As another thought I have a small teddy about 3 inches tall. If we phograph this on each members bike as it moves round the UK with pins / pics added to the members map (members need to meet to do this - Not just post the teddy - both bikes in the shot . It can then be posted (Not as heavy as a golden conrod ) to each country encouraging our growing global community to meet. Thoughts?

Hmmm "Pass the Teddy" - like it! Of course there'd have to be a date set and possibly a charity to recieve the vast quantities of cash donated ......
I herewith volunteer to do the run up to Tim Ellis in Thurso (or Steven0/McF if going the other way round) - any more volunteers?
Well, when I say volunteer, I mean that's what looks like would be my patch, so I might as well ....

I do like that idea... be a lot more interesting than the Olympic torch!! The other thought I had (as the last one was "end 2 end") was a "tower 2 tower" (or similar concept) - maybe Blackpool to the Eiffel Tower?? Though maybe we need to find something that includes the Netherlands to get all the Admins involved??!?

Not wishing to sound too nerdy, but perhaps if an Administrator sees this they could consider a poll for interest in maybe a 2013 Round Britain charity ride/event? If there's only a couple of us up for it on the poll then we can knock it on the head quickly.... but if there are several of us then over the coming months we could maybe look into some ideas and possible dates? I realise I'm quite new to the forum so don't want to appear too keen...

I like the "pass the teddy" relay-idea. But going round Britains coast line might be a bit too difficult to pull off.
