There appears to be a lot of interest in planning and committing to a Forum meet up. Two events seem to be under consideration - Popham on 21 August and/or Beaulieu on 26 Jun. Both events are excellent days out and both will serve as an ideal platform for us to meet up. I've closed the earlier threads for Popham and Beaulieu so that we can keep the relevant chat in one place. You can choose three of the options above, including "they're a waste of time" - please help us by spending only a few minutes of your time to feedback. You can change your vote afterwards and if I set it up correctly, you should be able to see what other people have voted before committing yourself. If you have any suggestions for an alternative venue or date, please post and tell us about it. Read more: ntvhonda.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=2011&thread=1794&page=1#ixzz19sDDQmX5

I've voted that I will come both to Popham and Beaulieu. But, considering the effort , I hope you all understand that I will come to one venue only. Which will probably be the one that attracts the most members. GvS

stupid question time, where in gods name is popham/beaulieu. i have never heard of them Popham is just off the A303 near the junction with the M3 Andover is approx 8 miles west It's an active grass strip aerodrome and the owner is a keen biker. They have a a big bikers' fare on 21 Aug with on site camping. I've been once, other forum members have been several times; we all rate it as excellent and well worth repeating. Beaulieu is in the New Forest approx 12 miles south of J1 M27 (Western end) (think half way between Southampton and Bournemouth on the map). Beaulieu is a very picturesque village at the source of the River Beaulieu. The family seat of the Montagu family and home of the National Motor Museum. The 26 Jun is a big Bikers Ridein I've been to Beaulieu many times, but not managed the Motor Museum or the ridein yet. Wootton Bassett is approx 5 miles west of Swindon, south of M4 accessed from J16. It has been suggested in an alternate thread by Norfolknchance. This event is a charity fund raising rally involving a mass organised ride through the Town and to RAF Lyneham. Wootton Bassett is well known to many as the town that stops and pays respect every time the repatriated remains of service personnel are returned to the UK.

I forgot to mention it has free camping with new electrical points and decent showers. There's also a nice B&B just up the road.

We'll have to see if we can do part of the trip together.
My initial planning is to leave home early on saturday-morning, find a campsite close to Beaulieu and get there by the evening. (It's late in June, so there should be plenty of daylight). Spend Sunday-morning & a bit of the afternoon at the event, but start on my way home sometime during the afternoon. Arrive at a campsite near Folkstone sunday-evening. Monday morning: Back to France & then the stretch up north again.
