I'm new here so greetings to all and couple of questions for you. I've been givin a 400 Bros and would like to turn it into a track back. 400cc is a bit thin so I thought of slotting in the 650 motor from a revere or a 650 Bros.I've got a line on a 650 revere I know the revere is shaft and without major mods can this be changed into chain drive as on the Bros? I've seen other mods for the bike and I'm looking at:
CBR F2 or F3 forks: Is the caliper mount the same dimensions on the Bros as the F2 or F3? Probably upgrade to dual discs with CBR caliper and MC for more bite.
Vfr 800 5 spoke rear wheel. I can get the rear wheel hub assembly with this and is this a straight fit onto the 400 Hub? I've seen that the vfr wheel needs a the Bros/Hawk hub modified to fit but also briefly read where the vfr hub will fit also.Again do this mean from specific VFR models? This also comes with the caliper, MC and caliper mount but will it bolt on to the Bros?
CBR 900 rear shock upgrade? Also a popular mod but from what years?
Well, that's a start and any info is much appreciated. Looking forward to gaining some experiences from this forum.

I've seen other mods for the bike and I'm looking at: CBR F2 or F3 forks: Is the caliper mount the same dimensions on the Bros as the F2 or F3? The Bros has a floating single front disk and is a 4 pot caliper, Earlier wheels had a 110 front. You can fit the internals of the F2 F3 CBR into the Bros lowers if you want to keep the OEM look but would be easier to just put the complete front end onto the Bros.Probably upgrade to dual discs with CBR caliper and MC for more bite. Vfr 800 5 spoke rear wheel. I can get the rear wheel hub assembly with this and is this a straight fit onto the 400 Hub? No The hub is hardened steel and you need to get it machined and the hole widened to accept the wheel studsI've seen that the vfr wheel needs a the Bros/Hawk hub modified to fit but also briefly read where the vfr hub will fit also.Again do this mean from specific VFR models? This also comes with the caliper, MC and caliper mount but will it bolt on to the Bros? If you want to use vfr parts (no engineering to your Hawk spindle) the parts you need are:
vfr750 spindle vfr750 brake caliper and plate vfr750 brake disc vfr750 or Hawk eccentric vfr750 wheel nuts Hawk cush and sprocket vfr750 wheel (or vfr800 if you want)
The vfr750 spindle is slightly longer on the cush side so you'll need a spacer (use one out of the spare vfr750 cush assembly) to take up the slack on the cush side. No issues regarding wheel alignment. You get a slightly more sensitive rear brake because of the vfr twin piston set-up but that's no biggy.
It's an easy job and no engineering required. I did my conversion in the front garden over 5 years and 50k ago now.
