I have had a good idea for a rideout and possible camp out in the beautiful shear water area in crokerton warminster, nr the bath arms pub. They have a camp and caravan site, so it could be ideal, we could all meet at a mutual location to be arranged, and ride from bath (possibly and through a scenic route) to shear water. There is a beautiful forest centred by a lake used by the locals to swim, in the summer this is amazing, in the current sunshine state i was inspired. If anyone in the surrounding areas show interest, i'll look at booking some camping spots, and we can tent up, or even B and B for the ppl that feel the cold. We can look at making this in may - June time. lets see some hands first though! www.wellho.net/share/shearwater.htmlAttachments:

The location looks very good.
Do you have any specific dates in mind?
Any idea on costs?

Well i will have to have a really good look at costs, which i can do for this week (as of 2morro of course) i'll find out if we can get a discount if we have so many riders, we will figure something. It looks ideal, and as for dates, i'm thinking may (for the hardy camper/biker) but possibly june (for all round warmth and less rigamortis )

right, i have found a camp site thats a little further afield in sells green, which is near melksham, which isn't far from where we want to be, and is also next to a rather good pub (obvious fluke cough lol) the costs seem to be based on membership, this is 30 odd pounds a yr, an covers sites around the uk. alternatively there is a concesional fee of 7 pounds to non members. so per say, you have a membership that would make your pitch for the night 7.50-9.00 (high, mid, low) if you are a non member, add the additional 7 pounds, so as a minamal spend, we're are looking at 14.50. if we double up with tents, we're looking at 7.25. if someone has a massive tent, we might get away with less still More to come, also we can get in slightly cheaper as backpackers if we park the bikes elsewhere More to come as i look closer to our site, but this is a idea of cost, as for timing, i'm moving into a new place, so timing wise, i am looking at mid May time, to early June Give me some idea of when your free people, we will make this a worthwhile rideout. If we camp at this proposed site, we are situated right on the caen hill flight, which is 29 locks in the space of less then 3 miles of canal, a fair site ( and a 3 hour jaunt - i am a boater) Theres prehistoric Avebury (site of that alien hoax) and Avebury henge. There is Bowood house and gardens. and longleat, one of the best examples of elizabethan architecture and has 900 acres of parkland for the boys when we're off our toys. throw in some white horse on way to shearwater, and maybe a visit to stonehenge if anyone wants to go and we have a rounded ride about
