Now the fuel pump has stop total it, eaten the WD40 and blows the fuse, so i have temporary fitted it with a direct feed it and runs ok, does any no how much the fuel will go down before it gets too low to feed the carburettor as i still need the bike for work.

Just been to my mini [ cars shop ] and got a mini fuel pump and filter for about £45-00 it fits where the old pump went, after a bit of re-bending the old fuel pump bracket its a new type pump and it just runs all the time but you can not hear it when the the engine is running, they all so sell the same pump that is on the MTV but said they are all way causing problems and they are 80-00 + VAT.
me all ways go for the low cost ways.

You can buy replacement points now for about £20 from David Silver, Wemoto etc., instead of £170 for a new Honda pump.

Hi all, Do you have some experiences with this aftermaket spare parts for original fuel pump? Did you repair somebody? I don´t belive that system (my pumps, especially contact looks very good, but no working - no cycling). Did anybody install similar pump as De Graaf van Salland?

I can't decide what will be better. (new pump as you have, or replace contact - cheaper). I checked your site, and my NTV has same problems as yours Honda safe money probably at everythink

I too have had the 'fuel pump' experience and being dumped on the side of the A45 was not pleasant! I was totally unhappy with many of the solutions as they appeared to be a stop gap and just waiting for it to happen again. I mused over the mini su type design but came across a solid state fuel pump of almost same size as the original, it took a bit of extending the fuel pipe being 'in line' but works a treat! Would anyone like the details? Dave

Hi Ilegalalien The pumps are made in New Zealand @ www.fuelflow.co.nz , they are an in line design which means you have to extend the input pipe, but retain the out put in the same place. Cut the connector off the old pump and solder to the new (the circuit is polarity protected), I double shrink wrapped to be sure. The bracket cast into the body of the pump can be (carefully) cut off and deburred as its a composite and fits in the same holder as the original. I have some images but couldn't work out how to attach them, can you advise? The beauty of this design is the 1 way valve, self regulation, quiet in operation and no points to burn out! I feel it runs better now at higher revs and is crisper on the throttle due to the fuel level being maintained. Would you advise ref the images or give me a call on 01676 534372 to talk me through? Dave
