Just thought I should let you know, some stupid car driver sideswiped Alan last night on his way home from work, he's ok, just a bit achy, very lucky he didn't hurt himself too badly, think he just has a bit of whiplash.
His NTV is ok, too, nice big dent in the tank and he broke his left front footpeg and left front indicator.
Alan was in the middle lane, the car was in the outside lane, coming up fast on another car, car braked and swerved in Alan's direction, so he swerved and hit a semi, thankfully the semi driver stopped and helped him get his bike off the motorway, but the car driver didn't stop.
Unfortunately neither Alan nor the semi driver got the reg of the car, so he's still loose on the roads.
Just a warning that there are some real stupid drivers out there that will try to knock you off your bike. Be careful.
Hub.

Hubcap, Please pass on my best to Alan. Hope he gets well soon. Lets hope the car driver has a major crash soon that only involves them, I don't specifically want them hurt. A trashed car would be nice though ;D The question is: If it's only a real NTV when it has a dented tank does that make Alan's extra real with a "big dent". Thanks for the reminder of nutters on the road. ATB Get well soon Roger

Yeah he's fine, just aching I think, poor bugger. Reckon he is rather annoyed, his bike isn't as pretty as it was with a great big dent in the tank... at least the rest of it looks pretty normal, and he'll have his new footpeg by tomorrow!

Nobody like's hearing about accidents, at least he's ok, he's very lucky and it doesn't bear thinking about how it could have turned out. Think he's got a spare NTV tank somewhere, but its not leaking so its fine for the mo.

HubChance Norfolk.. Sorry to hear about your off... Glad you came through it OK, Could of been much worse... (Not great but roughed up, is better than broken up ) And the bike can always be be repaired. Still with a dent like that your bikes gotta to be elevated to NTV Royalty Now, surely.... Get well soon, M8...

Lots of idiots out there :/ Glad Alan is in one piece. A tank can soon be replaced, but skin and bone takes a while..... if not worse.

Or is it "Norcap"? Sorry to hear the news Delighted to hear that things are not too bad Annoying that idiotic driving caused the accident and the idiot either a. Knew about it and drove off b. Didn't know about it and kept on driving Neither option is very palatable to me and I'm afraid I'm not as charitable as RJ above. There's a lot of unanswered questions in the scenario and some worrying info: Motorway, Semis and centre lanes How fast was Alan going? How much traffic was there? The hazards involved are unthinkable, so happily able to note he is shaken and stirred, but no worse

Alan would've been doing just over 60, because he was slowly overtaking a semi, hard to be sure how fast he was going because his speedo wasn't working at the time. I don't think there was that much traffic, or if there was everything behind kept a safe distance, nice to know some people understand the reason for the 2 second rule etc.
Another outcome doesn't bear thingking about, I was mortified when he phoned me to tell me he'd been in an accident but nevertheless glad he was OK.
I just hope that driver is shaken up, too, and decides to take it a bit slower next time.

Hi Hubcap,
On a dutch second-hand site I found a blue NTV650 fuel tank for sale. No rust or dents, but a few scratches. The seller wants € 75,= for it.
I bought my centre-stand from the same guy (probably from the same bike).
Interested ? Let me know and I'll send him an e-mail (in Dutch).
Ride safely

Think that's a bit out of our price range at the moment, Let me know if he's still got it in a couple of months and I should be able to sort something unless Alan's already sorted it.
